1011  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I know it's been done.....jeans to skirt on: May 02, 2007 10:28:53 AM
This is my first jeans recon...I'm fairly new to sewing and I'm so proud of my new skirt!  I hate that staying home and playing with my kids is causing all my pants to split in the knees!  At least I can still use them for some time!   Grin

1012  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dollar store beauty loot!!!!! on: May 01, 2007 08:45:07 AM
My son has eczema and his pediatrician recommened this and wow wee does it work..

At Walmart there is an Equate brand 1lb tub of Dry Skin Creme......for my son's skin I put it on at least twice a day and the scales are gone!  For me, I put it on after doing dishes or whatever and my hands are soft....it is like $3 for the tub and lasts forever!!!

The Dr. said this worked even better than anything he could prescribe....and let me tell you..it does!   Smiley

p.s. I'm a Dollar Tree junkie as well....I'm hooked on their picture frames, make up (only the name brand stuff) and cleaning supplies!  There is this stuff called Awesome and it is a clean-all.....the spray bottle they sell is actually concentrated and you can mix it with half water...so it lasts forever and it cleans everything..we used to use it at a Day Care I worked at.....I use it to spray on my clothes if they have grease or bad dirt and it takes it out...I have cleaned spots on the carpet, the cabinets, walls, whatever.  Smiley
1013  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Capri Sun Backpack................. on: April 30, 2007 11:02:20 AM
what a great bag you have there! That's a lot of capri sun drinks to be saving. MY hubby would just roll his eyes at me if I started washing them out and saving. He has no adventurous spirit in him to envision these finished products! Good Job!

My husband felt the same way..until he saw the first little purse.  Smiley  I am loving the Capri Sun items.  Smiley  I am going to work on a wallet next.  Smiley

Ok, so I am sewing up a cloth block and don't know how to sew the end of it after I stuff it so that it doesn't look all jacked.  Smiley  My husband says there has to be a way since when you buy pillows and what not at the store it doesn't look like that.....any ideas?

ok, so I got a sizzix on sale at Michaels for $30!  I got a few dies, but of course they don't have the dog tags because they are retired I believe.....but I got some other shapes and tried it.  the shaped turned out good, but seem kinda flimsy........are they like that for you too?  How do they hold up as a necklace?  Just wondering!  Cheesy
