1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Re: Machine embroidery? on: January 30, 2008 12:57:10 PM
If there were a board just for us ME'ers, I would post more often. I don't frequent this board much anymore, because there is no place to post for the ME and sewing type of things I do. I think if the hand embroiderers can have a board, why can't machine embroiderers have one of our own?

Think about it, there would be a lot of activity on this board if we had our own subject IMHO.

You could start off with a Disney machine that is sold at Wal-Mart. I have a Bernina Deco and love mine. I got it at a dealer tho. Once you learn it, you will get hooked quickly tho!

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: I broke every last one on: April 23, 2007 06:09:00 AM
Remember to keep your shuttle clean, and when going over thick sections of fabric (like the seams on jeans) use a jean-a-ma-jig. Sometimes needles have burrs in them and will break easily or break your thread. I seldom break a needle. I just get thing sewn together backwards when my DH comes inand disturbes me Roll Eyes
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Just a tip on: April 23, 2007 06:04:21 AM
It is very important to oil your machine after several hours of use! I found this out the hard way, it locked up on me. I always oil the rod that moves the needle up and down. I too have a kenmore and love it! I also got the sears maintanence plan. It's well worth it, the service dept screwed up twice and broke my machine and sears bought me another one and upgraded me too to a better one.
