1  Re: Three Tiny Movie Things - GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by hippieguts123 on: April 04, 2012 06:07:32 PM
Hi guys!!

I was so thrilled to find my package at my doorstep today, and THANK YOU solitarycricket!!! super cool stuff.......

also, I must apologize deeply for the super poor image quality..I've been searching high and low for my camera charger, but until I'm reunited web cam will have to do...

Three great Parking Lot Movie bookmarks, reading from top to bottom, "I did not overcharge people to get more money. I overcharged people because they were dicks and deserved it. Vengeance is mine," "In the parking lot we were dynamos. Whirlwinds. We were rulers. WE had complete autonomy. We had it in a world that had nothing to offer us," and, "Usually the customer's always right. At the parking lot the customer's only sometimes right and even then it's still a judgement call."

Whew!!! GREAT quotes, long post:)

here we have an awesome rendition of Sinatra and Brando from Guys and Dolls...very impressive!!!

and lastly, the one that nearly brought me to tears,

Beautiful. and so much more so in person. I wish all of you could see it!! It reads, "Let us hope that we are all preceded in this world...by a love story". THANK YOU!! I will treasure these great gifts always!!!!!

Oh my gosh!! I'm so sorry for posting so late, but there was such a terrible struggle getting these pictures downloaded!! but they were worth the trouble since gracewolf made such AWESOME TINY THINGS!!! wooo!!

here we go!

first off we have the lovely Coraline stuffs! (even with some extras of taffy!!) We've got the cat, Coraline, and Wybie, all exquisitely done...

(i'm really sorry also for the poor quality..you guys should see them in real life!!)

next is the great VOWEL A from Singin' in the Rain--from the voice/language coach scene...brilliant!

And then there's the anklet/bracelet of bells for my favorite movie ever, It's a Wonderful Life! Because everybody knows, "every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings"!

and she even threw in these great extras!! a winged necklace (which i sported today) and a bag full of bells!!

Thank you SO MUCH gracewolf!!!!!!!!

so this year for Halloween, I had the opportunity to go to Washington D.C. for the Rally to Restore Sanity with John Stewart and Stephen Colbert. I needed a costume that was both easy to travel with, and a made a statement. This is what I came up with! It's an upsidedown tea cup!!!

I'm also pretty excited about the shirt, since it is a "tea shirt"!! yuk yuk yuk!!!

I did a 1920s dance for my semester project at my art school, and along the way finished some supplimentary pieces of visual art to go with the piece. I came across this great photo of Gloria Swanson in my research and used found objects to recreate the picture in a window pane.

here's the picture

And the recreation

7  better late than never, right? FOOD COSTUMES!! in Halloween Costumes by hippieguts123 on: February 06, 2009 07:49:18 PM
Gorsh. I know halloween was ages ago, but these pictures just made it on to my computer.

so, my friends and i are the dress up queens, so for halloween we decided to dress up like foods. Our veggie dipped, though, so we could no longer represent the food triangle foods. instead we just went as a cluster of edibles.

Try and guess which foods we are!

i know it's a little hard to see. I'll let you know if you guess right!

I made this tie dress for homecoming.. i know it's already been past for months months months.

I went with a friend... her mom said we looked like ebony and ivory...ha!

it's a huge mass of ties, some ribbon for straps, and a poof of faux suede fabric and the buttons are old poker chips!

sorry for the sideways...

plus here's this great sweater-shirt thingie made from an xxl shirt from goodwill. giant hood.

ugh. this was right after thanksgiving. i can still feel all that veggie stuffing in my belly.

9  oh, how i love thee, buddy... in Stenciling: Completed Projects by hippieguts123 on: February 06, 2009 05:59:25 PM
So, this past tuesday was buddy holly's death day. I was pretty depressed as he is one of my greatest idols. To show my immense gratitude, i felt he deserved at least a shirt. Very few people recognized his face, but i tried to educate them on who i feel is the true king of rock and roll.

plus, sorry that one's on it's side...i didn't catch it fast enough... you can even see him in the background on this one!
