My DD is finally wanting to wear skirts, yay. So today I whipped one up. It kinda came along as I went, no plans, just happened.

Hope you like!
Since we still have the heat on 70 we are really hoping for Spring to get here and stay!

2  Sheet to capris and shorts in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by MacesMeMe on: May 07, 2010 06:18:43 PM
I had this white sheet headed to the garbage b/c it was torn up (curtesy of my dogs). But I decided there was just enough to make a pair of shorts, but I got 2 which was even better. I had some left over dye from last year too.

Capris  this pair I just used 2 panels.

You can see the waist here, elastic in both. And the messy room, hair and shirt, ha.

Shorts for the boy. This one I used 4 panels.

Back-they are really even-

I use my own pattern that is set up for both my kids, I just cut them a little differently so I could use the edge of the sheet instead of hemming. And I just enough dye to each leg.

And have a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY weekend!!

3  Mario booster seat cover in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by MacesMeMe on: March 10, 2010 05:05:55 PM
I just bought this booster seat the other day and the first thing DD says is "Mom I don't like the colors can you make me a different one?"

And I did. We already had the Mario iron on. I was thinking cute-girly-flower......
The original one is black to the left there, like the elbow padding.

4  My new toy an older Brother in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by MacesMeMe on: December 18, 2009 02:26:07 PM
I am so excited to go play with this. I was at the Salvation Army store yesterday and saw it, tried it out, seemed to work fine. But noticed the spool holder was missing. Put it back. Went home and googled it, and saw someone elses looked like that too. Called them and they said it was gone, but I had a sneaky suspicion she did not check. Called again this morning from work and the girl said it was there and she could only hold it til noon. Ran straight home from work, switched the kids w/DH and ran out and got there in the nick of time.
Anyways here it is a Brother VX847, I wanted an older HEAVY DUTY machine and this thing weighs about 20lbs. I have a Singer Simple and a Singer serger so this is new to me. And I paid $12!

I cleaned it up and opened the case to find the spool thing in there (duh, didn't even look) plus it looks like a button hole foot thing, and 2 other needles including a twin needle which was even more sweet.

Now back to looking for a site to download the manual. Thanks for sharing with me!

5  Upcycled sweater to Girls Sweater Dress in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by MacesMeMe on: December 14, 2009 09:42:43 AM
I picked up this cute womans sweater at the thrift shop in plans of it being a hat. But it was too pretty.

Made pants, she hated. Cut pants crotch.

Made sweater dress. She loved and wore straight out to the Princess and the Frog.

Gotta love the quick poses as Daddy is yelling at us to hurry up or we'll be late for the movie, haha
Don't mind the mess. We were in the middle of rearranging rooms again.

6  Re: Doll Clothes (Post your projects here!) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by MacesMeMe on: December 07, 2009 12:32:50 PM
Junebug6162-your 1st doll looks just like the one I got for my dd, except I ripped off the bad/matted wig and put a new one on, now she looks like a new doll! And I love those camo pjs.

Dawnmcd what pattern did you use for the pioneer outfit in the last pic?

Here is my dds AGD before and after. No clothes made for her yet, just her hair transformation.

And here is a Madame Alexander doll my brother got DD for her bday last week. she wanted a dress and some tights, she picked the fabrics and pattern which was Simplicity 7083 view H (very easy too). The headband and leggings/tights are self drafted, the leggings have no side seams.

Seeing how she takes care of blondey here I may wait to give her the AGD. And here is more info on the agd doll

7  Re: Dog Swap 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by MacesMeMe on: November 16, 2009 04:17:34 PM
I received from ThatKid today and it was awesome. My dogs knew it was for them and was waiting to grab, they did let me get 1 picture though. Sorry pics are crap I had the camera on the wrong setting.

They each got a a pillow cover with their names embroidered, a rope tug, tennis balls, handmade balls which Scoobie the one the left had both stuffed in her mouth, cookie container, recipe booklet and cookie cutters. And Benson drooled up all the covers!

I received today. He was so cute, I would of never of thought to do this!

And as you can see my son swiped him, matches his blanket colors. But he is now resting up on a shelf, safe from the bad dog.

Oh and goatgoddess's was supposed to be a goat, but I thought maybe it looked more like a giraffe. ??

Ok so I will be a tiny spoiler and show one thing I got in my oven as we speak. And I will also give you my tips too.

I used this recipe. I looked at several but I had everything to make this one. And it looked easy, easy is good.
I made a double batch. I had a jar of baby food bananas so I used that and I had an open can of pumpkin from last night so I used that for my 2nd half cup instead of the bananas.
Obviously I used the dog bone cookie cutter, I dropped the whole mixture on my cutting board and flattened it with my hands. MY TIP would be after you put it on your cutting board or whatever you are going to use, to put it in the freezer for a few minutes to harden it up. It started getting a little sticky after a few minutes. Also when you measure your honey give your tbsp a spritz of Pam too so it slides right off.

And just to prove they must have smelled good, he sat very patiently, drooling, Hoping for a crumb to hit the ground, not taking his eye off the stove for a split second. But he didn't get any b/c it had raw eggs, he'll have to wait.

**these were not good for shipping!***

OK so I made a forced attempt to get a pic of my 2 boys.
This is Benosn he is 6.5 and an Olde English Bulldog, he came from Benson NC hence his name. And little Rocco is 9.5 and a Chihuahua, the easter bunny brought him for my DS when he was 3.
And under the dora blanket is my other DS, it's not just a lump. Roc was trying to stay warm.

Sorry it's blurry, don't know what happened there.
