41  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Broomstick crochet neckwarmer on: September 06, 2007 02:02:33 PM
This is my first Broomstick crochet project. I learnt the technique a couple of months ago and just started making something. It was going to be a shrug, but then I saw someone else's neckwarmer and I thought YES!!! that's what it could be.

My Co-model is Thomas, the yarn is a mix of drak green acrylic and lighter green Mohair. it's so cosey.
42  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My teabag bag on: August 30, 2007 01:40:16 AM
I was actually getting round to putting my teabags into a storage jar,  which left me with the foil bag they came in....and inspiration struck. Well maybe not inspiration as such, maybe more like a memory of some funky Capri Sun bags.
SO I made this:

My DD loves it and uses it to cart her doll around. One day I'm going to make a bag just for me. Smiley
43  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My first doublepointy sticks project on: August 28, 2007 01:54:11 AM
Used part o my summer hols to learn how to make socks using double pointed needles.
Went online and found an easy pattern.

Then I added my own little twist, a little Vandyke stitch from my fab needle work book and this is the result. Made for and modelled by my OH

Close up of vandyke stitch

OH loves them and used them as house slippers as they are very cosey. What do you think?
44  COOKING / Dessert / A Cake by my DD on: July 30, 2007 05:03:46 AM
My DD demanded to make a cake that she found in an arts and crafts book.
Basically it's a sponge cake, but what really got my DD was the funky coloured icing on the top. When she saw the pic she thought it was a FIMO cake.

So this is the result. A coffee cake with Winnie the pooh characters in roll on icing.

45  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Reconstructed/recycled little Bag (IMG Heavy) on: July 30, 2007 04:58:50 AM
I've been wanting a smaller bag that I could just chuck my keys, phone and purse in.....So I made one.
I used my daughters old jeans, her old painting shirt from Nursery, some zips that Julie gave me and a tie I bought from a charity shop. So the only new thing was the thread.

The strap made rom a Taz tie.

The inside made from DD painting shirt. It still has her name inside the pocket.

Please ignore the sewing at the front. Had real problems trying to sew near the front button. So had to do it by hand.

I love it and so does my DD so I think I might have to make mysle another one.

Comments gratefully accepted
46  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / My first FIMO soft projects (pic heavy) on: June 23, 2007 08:53:08 AM
I remember way back when I was in my teens I used to mess around with fimo. I still have one of the broaches that I made my mum.
For my birthday I asked for some fimo and my OH kindly purchased some for me.
Firstly I made myself some earrings. I paid homage to fellow craftster and made some doughnut and pop tart earrings and for fun some sheep ones too.

This weekend I have my OH's and my Mum's birthday. So for him I made an

altered Altoid tin using the logo from a favourite cartoon of his.

Inside I've put a hand made Star Trek necklace.

For my Mum I made a Koi Carp necklace and earring set.

47  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Patchwork Wallet on: June 04, 2007 10:28:27 AM
My wallet has been falling apart for a while now. So inspired by all you crafty folk, I thought I would have a go at making my own.
I used a hankerchief that I got from a charity shop (black and white material) and a load of quilting/patch squares that I got from a friend.

Outside of wallet.

Inside of wallet with patchwork coin holder and card holder.

Had to do a lot of hand sewing as the wallet just kinda grew rather than being planned.

48  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / How about a bigs cats swap? on: June 01, 2007 07:36:01 PM
I'm a huge Tiger fan and was wondering there where any other bigs cats fans out there. Panthers, Lions, Leopards, Cheetah.
What do you think?

I did do a search, but didn't see it in the swaps.
49  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Very small 4 leaf clover now includes the pattern on: April 30, 2007 05:26:22 AM
Been a bit of an ebay hound the past week or so. Nothing expensive, but lots of little things to add to my crafting.
two of the tings I'm really excited about are:

this a fab box of crochet silk. Very old fashioned, but fab stuff.

I also got a set of vintage metal crochet needles. Very small.

I had to give them a go and this is the result.

What do you think?
great for scrapbooking/cardmaking and embelishments for clothes
50  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My NEEPS Badge on: April 20, 2007 05:59:58 AM
I'm a member of a local online forum called NEEPS. Because it is generally a local forum we quite often meet up. I've been a member for a while so I know lots of fellow neepsters, but there's still a need for name tags/ introductions. So I came up with this.
