1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: super-simple capelet, with tutorial/pattern on: November 07, 2010 05:25:37 AM
Wow, where have I been that I have not seen this pattern before?  It is EXACTLY what I have been looking for.  I'm not a poncho wearer, either, but love capelets to take the chill off my shoulders at work.  I'm going to make several of these, I just know it. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

3  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Custom Knee Sock KAL on: June 04, 2007 08:50:18 AM
That's an awesome site!!!  Thanks for posting it.  I want to get some sock yarn this afternoon and give it a try.  Seems like it would be easy enough to incorporate your favorite stitch pattern on the leg, too.

I'm glad that edging worked out for you.  I really like the way it just finishes the edges without adding another design element.  Wink

Can't wait to see pics!

I added a crab stitch all around mine after I completed the last row.  That added just enough weight so the edges didn't curl.

Wow, I LOVE Trifarina's green!!!

I have a ball of this yarn in blue/brown and it hasn't found a home yet.  Might have to use it for this.  I never thought of using it for an afghan.

Great colors, Moecantsew!  I would never think to use them together, but they look awesome!

I love your name, too.  What a hoot!!

Now you sound like me.  I'm not about to let a pattern get the best of me!!!!   Grin

Yes, you have the right idea.  You sl st into the top of the ch3 to join, then you sl st into the next st, then ch3 and start in again.  And yes, you do that for each round.

One thing I did differently is that instead of ch3 to start each round, I just ch2; my yarn was a bit stretchy, and I found that ch3 made it too long and it had too large a space between it and the next stitch.  Make sense?

If you run into problems again, you might scan your stitches up close and maybe one of us can see where your problem lies.  It's worth a try, because this pattern is just too neat not to make it.

Congrats, Moe!  Once you get going on it, it's a fun one, isn't it?  I can't post pics yet, either, but you can post a link to your pictures!!!!  Would love to see your progress.   Rosina
