1  So Charming!! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by mrswendy on: February 25, 2009 07:10:56 AM
So a friend of mine has this saying that I just think is hilarious! I have always thought it needed to go on a shirt then the other night he drew a caricature of himself on the back window of my dirty car so I transferred it to wax paper sized it down and stenciled it on the back of a shirt with his saying on the front. This was my first freezer paper stencil, I am hooked!! Now on to the pictures

Comments always welcome

3  Purple velvet goodness in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mrswendy on: March 13, 2008 02:08:25 PM
I was asked by a friend of mine to make a two piece outfit for her. She gave me a sketch of what she had in mind and the fabric she wanted to use. I finished it in about three hours from drafting to finish. I am pleased with the way it turned out.The skirt is just straight across the top with a slit up both sides. Now on to the pictures

4  Bridesmaid dress + Vinyl = fancy ball gown *picture plump in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mrswendy on: January 02, 2008 03:18:49 PM
So we decided very last minute to go to New York for the Dresden Dolls Masquerade Ball on new years eve I wanted to look spectacular but had no time to make a whole ball gown so I took an old bridesmaid dress I had lying around and a vinyl skirt I had made years ago put them together and threw a cute corset that was store bought on top, the result....... Fabulous ball gown for $0.
no picture of the dress before but here it is after I did some minor adjustments

front of the gown

close ups

no action shots because someone else took the pictures and I have yet to get them but we had a great time and the dress was perfect!!
comments and questions welcome  Smiley

5  Two XL shirt recons in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mrswendy on: December 27, 2007 01:07:17 PM
I forgot to take before pictures but I think they turned out really cute. My dress form is modeling them because I made them for a friend.
This started out as a cool but really big shirt I added the black bottom and the sleeves to give it a little more style. I really does hang smooth I was just in a hurry and forgot to size up the form before I dressed it.

and the back

The second shirt was super easy took like 15 mins or so. Just cut off the top and brought the sides in so now it is a cute boat neck 3/4 sleeve tee. No back picture because there is nothing on the back.

Thanks for looking. Comments and questions welcome

6  Child Costume: "The Three Eyed Monster" coming to theaters near you! in Halloween Costumes by mrswendy on: November 01, 2007 08:18:29 PM
My daughter wanted to be a fat green three eyed monster for halloween. I decided the best way was to make her face the mouth and have the eyes on top of her head. I used stuffing and just wrapped it around her to make the belly nice and fat. Now on to the pictures I didn't realize that there was a shadow until she had removed her costume and make up. I am going to try and get a better picture of the whole costume tomorrow.

I had feet coverings but she forgot them at home  Roll Eyes

7  A Mummy a Vampire and a Three Eyed Monster walk into the night in Halloween Costumes by mrswendy on: November 01, 2007 05:40:31 PM
My Halloween costumes for this year. I had so much fun making this years because I didn't use any patterns so my frustration level was zero. Picture are kinda crappy. We were in a hurry and I didn't see all the shadows.
First up the mummy I have done a mummy before and it seemed like every three houses we were stopping to retie so this year I made pants and a shirt and sewed everything to them then made a head wrap.

The vampire she wanted to be a gothic style vampire she designed the whole outfit and was very pleased with the end result. The cape is made to look like bat wings from the inside. The bottom of the inside panel has shirring to make it have that fancy gothic feel.

When I asked her what she wanted to be for halloween she said a fat green three eyed monster so I did my best. I made her face the mouth and the eyes on top of her head.

9  Dead-ish Punk Rock Sillyness in Halloween Costumes by mrswendy on: October 21, 2007 05:23:13 PM
Well I am no where near finished with my intended halloween costume yet but had a costume party to bartend and wanted something that I could wear all night that would not get annoying. So not too much make-up and not too involved costuming.
The final result

I already had the skirt and just cut and re safety pinned the tank but the hair and make-up is all me. Here are a couple different angles of just my face so you can see the make up better

Comments and suggestions welcome!

10  Dresses for picture day *fat with images* in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by mrswendy on: October 18, 2007 05:46:29 PM
I took too many pictures and it was so hard to pick which one to put in. My own pattern, basic cross front dress with a full skirt but I have had this idea brewing for a while to make a dress that could look real fancy then take a few things away and it could be a play dress. I will be making more of these for sure they come together so easily. Now on to the pictures

I changed the shape of the underskirt for the other dress and like the way it lays better
