171  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: music purse... i need opinions on: July 19, 2004 01:26:55 PM
i think the purse is adorable.

I really like the idea of a guitar strap.

If you don't want to go with the guitar strap, perhaps a plain black strap, or a strap that matches the blue in the music notes.

What a wonderful idea!

My BC doesn't come with fun little containers each time.   Cry  I got one container when I first got it, and afterwards all I get all plastic pouches that contain refils.  I'll have to be on the lookout for similar type containers though.  That is so nifty.

Awesome.  If you can post a picture of one of the finished displays!  I bet it will look really fun.

175  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: I know it sounds immensely dorky, but on: July 18, 2004 07:26:09 PM
I remember when I was younger I use to get the American Girl magazine.  And they had craft ideas that I've remembered recently and thought "HEY! Thats useful!"

So I deffinetly don't find your suggestion to be dorky!

I'm living in Richmond now because of school.  I visit louisville a lot still though because of parents.

I didn't even realize craftsters had a city guide... this seems like it might be pretty useful.

Oh this might work.

Display them on strips of fabric.  Lets see if I can explain my idea correctly.

Take a long strip of fabric, a bit wider than your sunglasses.  Then you'll want two strips of ribbon.  And you'll attach the ribbon so they are the right width apart to hook your sunglasses on them (each earpiece thingy will go behind one piece of ribbon).

I hope that makes some sense.  I wasn't quite sure how to explain it.

I love how fabric scraps and construction paper can make such wonderful cards.  You can have "little kid fun" and end up with pretty adult accepted results!  Cheesy
179  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: hemp? on: July 18, 2004 06:08:55 PM
If you don't luck out with websites.  Instead of buying a big expensive book to get you started, I know walmart sells little hemp kits.  They only show you how to make one type of necklace per a kit, but it might be a great way to get started.
180  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Cheap Ugly Sewing Machine Cover on: July 18, 2004 05:45:17 PM
Do you need a sewing machine cover to be fully closed like that? (or is it for some other reason preferred?)  I hope I've not been covering my poor sewing machine up wrong!

I've always just thrown a pillow case over mine, or even a bit of scrap fabric.  Granted I clean mine obsessively...
