1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Discussion and Questions / Re: Machine Embroidery-- a machine that can embroider the images you digitize? on: June 19, 2008 02:46:59 PM
As far as I know there is no such machine that will just take a picture and embroider it. I could br wrong, it's been known to happen! To embroider an image taken from the web, or anywhere else, you have to have special software that will digitize it, and put it in the proper format for your machine. I don't digitize myself, but I plan on learning, and from what I've heard it can be tricky. You have to make sure the stitches are all in place and so on.

Again, this is just what I know, and there may be something out there that does what you're looking for. It would be nice if it were that easy!  Grin Hope this helps at least a little bit...
2  Georgia / Georgia: Central / Re: Sewing Classes in Atlanta area on: March 11, 2008 08:15:54 AM
You might check with Hancock Fabrics. I think they have listings of classes in the area. Other than that I don't know of any, but I'm looking around, too.

I saw the kirkwood Spring fling is in May!  Awesome!

Here's the link for the Kirkwood Spring Fling: http://www.kirkwoodfling.com/index.html

Booths are only $50! We'll be there, if we're accepted of course. We've done it for hte last two years. Didn't really have outstanding sales, but made back the booth fee, and had a good time.  Grin
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: What is this called? And where to get it?!? on: August 21, 2007 08:15:34 AM
I'm not sure if I want to give up my source or not, but what the hell! I just ordered a bunch from this site:
I haven't received them yet, but I'm pretty excited to start making my own key fobs. The hardware does seem to be out of stock at the moment, but I'm sure she'll have more soon. She also carries great webbing, ribbon and fabric.

Good luck!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Crayon Roll/Caddy - Pics! on: July 10, 2007 01:04:29 PM
This is fantastic! lol very cute

Crayola Caddy for the OCD colorer! :3

It's funny you should say that, my nephew at 2 is actually very anal about things like this! My sis-in-law was telling me that he previously had his crayons in a decorated wipes case, and he couldn't stand it because he couldn't get them in there exactly the way he wanted! So with this roll, he can organize them just the way he wants. It was just funny..  Cheesy

And thanks for the great comments everyone! I'll have to crank out more of these for Christmas gifts..
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Crayon Roll/Caddy - Pics! on: July 10, 2007 10:38:22 AM
Inspired by this lovely craftster's post: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=173827.0

I created my own little crayon roll. It was really easy to make, but it did take a minute to sew in all of those little channels! I used a 24-pack of crayons, instead of the smaller packs. I was surprised at how cheap crayons are! 12 cents for a box of 24 at Wal-mart! Anway, enjoy the pics, and comments good or bad always appreciated!    Grin

That is a really great idea, and a wonderful gift! One day when I actually go on a cruise, I want one of these! You could sell them, I bet.   Grin
