1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Lots of Upcycled Christmas Stockings on: December 12, 2009 04:41:36 PM

I made us all new stockings this year. The kids got the previously posted about Yo Gabba Gabba stockings. I made myself this tie dye one, out of I shirt I had tie dyed for myself, while I was pregnant.

I made this one for my husband, out of a burlap coffee sack. (I got the idea from the awesome Maya*Made blog.)

I made 14 of these little stockings, one for each member of the extended family. They're made of old blue jeans and felt.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Shrinky Dink Yo Gabba Gabba Ornaments on: December 11, 2009 05:03:27 PM

I made these to decorate a little tree for my daughter. I used the printable puppets from Nickjr.com as my templates. I traced and colored them with Sharpies. She loves them.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Yo Gabba Gabba Muno and Plex Hats on: December 11, 2009 08:48:52 AM

I made these for the kiddos a while back. They're just a basic double crochet hat, with felt features hand sewn on. The kids loved them, and I'm working on the other characters slowly, but surely.

(By the way, they weren't intended to wear down over your eyes, but my son thought that was funnier...)
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Brobee Stocking on: December 11, 2009 07:15:04 AM

After making a Muno stocking for one of my kids, I made this Brobee one for the other. Our family loves Yo Gabba Gabba.
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / is spray paint safe? on: March 29, 2007 12:46:52 PM
a friend just gave me a larger wire cage  for our pet rat, but it's rusty and not spectacular looking. our old cage is painted or enameled blue. it came from the store that way.
so my question is, what kind of paint would be safe to use on the cage friend gave me? i was thinking that since our old cage is painted, that must mean that there is something i can use...

i googled it, and i found one page where a guy said he had used rustoleum (did i spell that right?) paint, but i was just curious if any of you all had any experience or recs re:painting cages.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / white trash 4th of july bash on: March 27, 2007 12:08:51 PM
i'm thinking of hosting said party this year. everyone likes to come to our house because we live out in the boonies, and are allowed to do fireworks. also, well, my family probably won't have too much trouble following the theme. hehe...bikers, nascar fans, lots of tattoos, etc.

so anyway, i did a bit of searching on the net, and will probably do lots of trashy snacks like jello molds, and twinkies, and squirt cheese. we can drink boones farm (for the grownups)and koolaid (for the kiddos).i like the idea of have lots of big, awful fake tattoos for everyone to add to their existing tats.

what other ideas could i incorporate? i'm long on time, and short on cash. i'm thinking if i get ideas together now, i'll have lots of time to make/thrift/scrounge stuff, without having to spend big bucks.
