2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Tasty Crockpot Recipe! on: April 15, 2009 04:56:35 PM
I just thought I'd share the delish dinner I just had!

Before you go to work, place chicken breasts (I used 2), a can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 small jar of marinated artichoke hearts (I used Pastene brand), some white wine, and whatever spices you desire* into your crockpot. Turn on low and go earn those dollars!

When you get home and give your shiz a stir, the chicken will start to shred. I actually took 2 forks and shredded it up.

I served over biscuits with steamed asparagus on the side.

So tasteee!!!!

*I don't have many spices on hand, so I did a little bit of celery salt, thyme leaves, and black pepper.
3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / new display idea - helps me flesh it out... on: March 21, 2009 08:38:25 AM

My main product that I have been selling is half-aprons. I did a couple shows where I had them on coat hangers, but you really couldn't see all the detail when they were folded.

So, I thought something cute and vintage inspired would be clothes line.

Here's my brainstorm: 2 poles/sticks or similar with clothes line strung back and forth (multiple lines) with my aprons clothes pinned.

I don't exactly know what to use for the 2 poles. I thought about just getting 2 of the thickest dowels I can get at AC Moore or Michaels. This also raises the question of stability. I don't want them to be subject to winds or people jostling them.

So, let me pick your brains.......how would you built this???

For reference, I have pics of the aprons I make up at www.kaytron.blogspot.com. (hope that doesn't violate any rules. Just for reference purposes.)

THANKS ALL!!
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Approaching Stores to Carry Your Product on: March 10, 2009 04:56:24 AM

I wanted to relate something a friend of mine told me about shop pricing. She makes ceramics (mostly cups, mugs, and plates.) She let me know that whatever they are charging in the shop, you should be charging on your online store.

She had a plate in a store in the area and then posted one on her etsy for $10 less and the owner spoke to her about it. This is because they do not want to be undersold.

Don't know if this is true in all case, but when figuring your prices you might want to take that into consideration.

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Firemans Quilt on: January 01, 2009 06:43:38 PM

This is great! I'm planning a t-shirt quilt, so i have a question: did you sew the logos directly to the red? did you use a stabilizer (t-shirts can be difficult to work with)?
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Shower curtain question on: December 31, 2008 12:05:32 PM

Quick question for anyone who has made a shower curtain: a friend of mine said that i should get mold proof fabric.....I've never heard of such a thing!

I've seen many a shower curtain posted here, and was all gung ho to make one, just thought I'd ask if anyone else took mold/moisture into consideration when making their shower curtain.

Thanks!

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / painting on a store bought purse on: March 26, 2008 04:32:11 AM

on of my good friends birthdays is this weekend and i wanted to make her a clutch purse with the lolrus on it.  no time to sew, so i got one a target.

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Need Ipod measrements stat! on: December 23, 2007 06:37:19 AM

So, someone who wasn't on my list got me a gift, so I'm going to whip up  simple felt Ipod cozy for her. Unfortunately, I have a nano and she has the regular sized one.

Can any give me the measurements (how many inches by how many inches) the regular Ipod is? I also need the size and placement of the screen.

Thanks! I have to get this done today!!!!    Undecided
