1  mixed media piece (5 pictures) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by littlehands on: June 21, 2007 09:01:08 AM
this is a piece i finished back in may during school, sort of as an extension of my final for my photo class. our final was to choose a theme or an idea and shoot/process/print 10 cohesive photographs that relate to our idea in some way. my concentration was "breakdown," and i basically created divisions within the whole concept of breakdown to sort of illustrate real life applications... you know, biological breakdown, chemical breakdown, psychological breakdown, etc.

anyway i kind of wanted to redo my concentration through a series of mixed media pieces. this is as far as i got haha. it's sort of abstract... basically the whole premise behind it is the embodiment of psychological breakdown and how we try to take apart our heads and pick at our brains and analyze every thought that runs through our little thought strands and synapses and (insert technical term here).

what do you think? i kind of have a love-hate relationship with this one, because i like all the textures and the idea behind it, but i'm afraid it looks a little too collage-y?
