683  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / mothers day my way! on: May 07, 2007 02:58:56 PM
Cheesy I haven't crafted in a long time, but thought this Mothers' Day I would make my mom a cool picture frame, sorry no pics as of yet. I spraypainted cardboard frame and back piece red and added silver sparkles and small positive word phrases or words/and pictures on the frame. I handpainted a nice picture of a tree with hearts, and tulips at the bottom in watercolors. Made two bookmarks to go with it. I'm calling it good, and I hope she likes them as well. I'd show ya' but haven't figured out the picture thingy yet, but I will!

Oh, well the pics aren't going to work *sigh* I haven't posted 10 times yet......aargghg!  Shocked

685  Washington / Washington: West / Re: thrift stores in the Seattle area? on: May 04, 2007 05:26:49 PM
There are Value Villages in just about every Seattle neighborhood/business section. As well as in Burien, Renton, Bellevue, ....Salvation Army is also located all over Seattle, and other cities. St. Vincent de Paul is good, up on Aurora...I've moved now but Seattle is BIG into thrift stores!! Look online or in the phone book, and you will see! Alot of churches have thrift stores as well. Good luck! Wink
686  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / Re: Creative Ways to Wrap? on: May 01, 2007 08:14:15 PM
I saw the idea on here, one day, and thought it was a really crafty and cool thought. Make your own gift bag out of empty food boxes, like a cereal or cracker box, and cut off the flaps, and glue wrapping paper on it. After decorating it, you can make handles with ribbon, or twine, or you could crochet. The possibilities are endless and put and your gift inside.  Cheesy
