1  Canny Button Cuff in CHALLENGE 37 ENTRIES by cath 501 on: April 04, 2009 01:56:34 PM
Here is my Canny Button Cuff...made from recycled soda pop cans, turn into buttons using my Big-Shot die cutting machine. I backed them with double sided tape and funky foam. When using my Big-Shot I found out that if you cut tins in the right way the edge is slightly bent over making them safe to use in many different ways!
I made holes in them with my hole punch (the kind you hit with a hammer) When I first made them I didn't like them because the holes were not level, but now I do! It gives them that Made @ Home Style!
They are on the link below...

2  Recycled Rubbish Bags/crisp-packets in2 a bag for longlife? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by cath 501 on: June 25, 2008 09:25:12 AM
Cheesy Here's my recycled carrier-bags n crisp packet tote bag! I ironed loads of layers of plastic carrier and crisp bags together with a iron inside grease-proof paper to make them extra thick!! I got loads 2gether 2 do this, I haven't ironed so much 4 years! (I usually put stuff in the dryer!!)
When my melty plastic sheeting was big enough I back them on2 some material (old curtains again!) using my sewing machine! I LOVE MY SEWING MACHINE!
I had 2 sides which I sewed 2gether and added some handles!
Wow! Wonderful! My own bag 4 life! Well at least it will last longer than any old carrier bag!n the crisp packets would just have gone in landfill!
Now I can't wait 2 fill it with goodies the next time I go shopping!!!

3  Music Music Music........secondhand music book a second string in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by cath 501 on: March 22, 2008 12:32:06 PM
In my local charity shop I found a pile of old music books the type used for either children to use in school or maybe an orchestra.

Each book cost 25p where as a sheet of A4 printed paper cost 1.00.And each book contains about 50 pages! I have used the books to make paper-beads........origami,scrap-booking and anything else that pops (while playing music of course)in2 my head!

So the books will not end up as land-fill or whatever for sometime now! Once more to be cherished!

4  Phone Charms in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by cath 501 on: January 31, 2008 06:59:55 AM
Take a peek at the phone charms I have just posted. I hope you like them.

I like to make them instead of ear-rings and they use up all my odd beads and the ones people give me for recycling.

5  Computer Dude Pendant in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by cath 501 on: January 20, 2008 12:24:04 PM
I have spent all day on my computer.........well so far being 8 o'clock at night and I decided I would also tidy out my computer stuff! All wires and stuff left over from rebuilding my computer, making it super fast! What for I don't know, but my son said it was slow, so I added some memory and a new graphic-card to speed it up.
As I said why I don't know?It was slow, so like all crafter's I need tea, coffee or the odd glass of wine to help me relax,(not really I just like them all!) and maybe a choccy biccy! So while my computer was booting up I could get my supplies together, and get sidetracked into crafting!
Anyway here my Computer Dude Pendent.........made in super fast time!errrrrrrrrr! not quite as quick as my computer may I add!(Still what do I care!No stress!)

6  Making of Paper Beads in Beads: Completed Projects by cath 501 on: January 20, 2008 09:23:42 AM
Here are the picture and instructions for making paper beads maybe you want 2 modify them in some way!Even the kids can have ago, using PVA glue, clear nail polish or some poly-glaze.
First of all find an old mag or it could be new paper (thicker stuff works better!)

Now mark out the sheep of paper at 1cm or wider if you want longer beads

Then draw up and down to turn them into long triangles

Cut out as shown

Roll up the long triangles out cocktail stick and glue at the end

Once glued run them over a embossing pad and the dip into clear/coloured powder

Set the embossing powder over a heat gun.Dip into embossing powder and reheat again if required.

And here are a mix and match of what I made.........flogged loads, and had free beer all night 4 me and my mates with these!!!

7  Paper Beads..........For Beer! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by cath 501 on: January 19, 2008 02:44:21 PM
Here are my paper beads........and I can work out how to get them to you all to see! I am quite enjoying put up my stuff!Hope I can remember how to do this in the morning!
Anyway here are my paper beads.....more than paper they're solid like rock!Maybe cos I covered them in a couple of lots of embossing powder, cos I wanted them to last, cos over here in the UK we get loads of rain!So I spend ages covering them and it was worth it!

I made some more and wore them while I was out, the land lord at the pub love them so much he ask me for them. I didn't get paid for them in money.(But that night I got free beer all night!!)
He asked me for more, which I did get paid for 10 and free beer for me and my mates to! Not bad eh?
The paper I used was a free leaflet throu the door, the embossing powder cost me about 20p but I did spend some time on them....which I can truthful say I did enjoy........so what price is that!

8  Kilt Pins in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by cath 501 on: January 19, 2008 11:45:44 AM
This is my first post on Crafters and it could be my last? Why not to sure how to do it! I much prefer to craft than computer, but feel I have to do something with this very expensive toy! I can hide all my craft stuff anywhere in the house, but my computer just sits in the corner! And if I make a mistake with my craft (if there is such a thing I can go back 2 it later, but with the computer hours of work can be lost if you don't save it!).
So here goes........
Kilt pin 4 a Friend and some others I had to make for my other friends.
Hope you like!
