1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / I'm Old Gregg! on: November 05, 2010 12:36:36 PM
I might be a bit late for the post-Halloween bandwagon, but I've been super busy lately and haven't gotten a chance to put this up yet.

For Halloween this year, I made myself an Old Gregg costume out of things that I already had, found at Goodwill, and fake plants.

For the headpiece, I glued a bunch of fake leaves to a baseball hat and stuck a thing of fake ferns into it.

All of this is great, but I have to say that my favorite part of the costume, hands down is the mangina. I took a taplight, stuck it in my tights, and flashed people all night.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / I'm going to Germany! Now I just need gifts for my host family... on: May 30, 2008 02:12:34 PM
I'm going on a foreign exchange program this summer to Germany! I'm so excited!

But I'm kind of stumped on what I should bring to my host family. I've already met my host sister because she stayed with our family for about a month this spring, so I know that I can bring them Sequence, a game that I taught her how to play that she really liked. But other than that, I'm not quite sure what to do. Theoretically, it should be something fairly small, because it all has to fit inside my suitcase. Also, I'm from Texas, and I thought maybe I could make/buy them something Texas-y. So, anybody have any ideas?

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Jayne Hat and Harry Potter DArk Mark Illusion Scarf! on: December 10, 2007 06:30:13 PM
So I did a LOT of knitting around Thanksgiving, and am just now getting around to posting pictures  of the stuff I made. The first thing I knitted (in the car on the way up!) was another Jayne hat; this is actually he fourth one I've knitted, but the first one I've put on craftster. It's kind of sad how I've memorized the pattern Grin

I also started knitting my Harry Potter Dark Mark Illusion Scarf before the break, but didn't get around to finishing it until later- it took FOREVER because it's so long. Even when I wrap it around my neck, both ends reach past my knees! Maybe that's normal? I don't really know, as I live in Texas...

Here it is as modeled by my oh-so-lovely floor, the pen is for scale.

And here's the illusion part. I am now known at school as "that girl with the skull scarf"  Wink

10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / My stencil bled.. and died of blood loss. on: June 20, 2007 04:30:41 PM
Yes, there was that much bleeding going on. I was wondering what I did wrong. I used regular printer paper and that Simply Spray stuff that they advertise on the site sometime, so I think what happened was that the spray soaked into the paper and got to the shirt. So would the paint and a brush work better, or different paper or what?
