1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / New Look 6943 skirt on: March 13, 2010 08:30:43 AM
this is the first project finished today, super easy pattern, (really you dont need a pattern for this sort of skirt its only different sized rectangles) very cute fabric which i bought recently from a fabric shop which is closing down, the first pic is over exposed so i have also included a close up snap of the fabric.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / scrappy camo shorts on: March 13, 2010 08:22:22 AM
Yay today I finished two projects, this was the second one, but I've been avoiding finished them because i didnt want to put the zipper in (dont know what i was worried about, it was reasonable easy, I'm not going to win any prizes for neatness but its functional) as usual (in my experience) burda magazine pattern instructions were severely lacking, so I gave up using them about halfway throughand just made it up. Fabric is a tiny little camo print remnant ive had for about ten years (yay for destashing!) because there was so little fabric I used black cotton for the pocket lining and waistband. My favorite thing about these shorts is the button.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Mens Shirt to My Dress on: February 14, 2010 11:34:21 AM
Yep, another mens shirt recon, I saw this originally on cutoutandkeep? i think, basically a halter neck top made from the sleeves and the bottom of the shirt as the rest of the dress. The best part of this is that it was totally free! as I got the shirt from work (it was going in the skip before i rescued it) I think i will make another one with a couple of alterations, I learned a lot from making this one.

on to the pics, apologies for the poor quality pics and the dirty state of my mirror! (yuk!) also i dont look this fat in person (i hope!)

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Burdastyle Amy Hoodie on: January 09, 2010 06:30:41 AM
my first completed project of the year, made with the fabric from two and a big giant mens sweatshirts (this hoodie takes a lot of fabric) because im a geek i stencilled the imperial logo from star wars on the top of the sleeves. I really liked this pattern and will probably make it again in a lighter weight fabric (this weighs an absolute ton!) and i would probably go down a size as well.

5  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / anthropologie two-birds romper on: April 19, 2009 12:28:52 PM
Anyone got any ideas about where i can get a pattern to replicate this?

I wouldnt have thhough of myself as a romper suit sort of girl but i think this is beautiful, but sadly i dont have 90 to spare for it

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Can anyone recommend a shorts pattern? on: April 05, 2009 04:55:41 AM
as the title says im after a couple of different patterns for shorts for summer, i'm already planning on downloading the 'ruby' pattern from burdastyle, any one got any other suggestions?

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Simplicity 4589 on: March 29, 2009 02:34:56 AM

This is made from Simplicity 4589 View C, I made this last year but have only just got round to posting. I love this pattern and intend to make a couple of the other views this year. The fabric was an old pillowcase of my grandma's so this was a very cheap project.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Burda Shirt Dress on: March 29, 2009 02:23:46 AM

This is made from pattern 105 from Burda Magazine issue 2/2009. Pretty happy with the way this turned out considering i didnt do a practice run first. I messed up on the collar a bit so i sewed on a couple of extra button to hide the ugly joins. No action shots as its too small for me (its a holiday dress and making holiday clothes too small keeps me motivated on my diet!) Total cost of dress 6 and I still have some fabic left over which I think will be made into a pair of shorts once i find a pattern

Thanks for looking Smiley

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Pattern/Tute for a Camera Bag on: March 07, 2009 04:52:26 AM

Can anyone direct me to a good pattern or tutorial which could be used for a camera bag, I have a DSLR and the bag I currently have is too ugly to be seen with, I want to make one with pretty fabric Smiley

10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Experiments with My New Camera in Whitby (pic obese!) on: March 05, 2009 12:55:47 PM
As it says in the title, me and the boy went to Whitby today, home of Dracula and Jet (and a also a very nice wool shop) The main purpose of the visit was to have a play with my shiny DSLR which i havent used for anything interesting since i bought it (shame on me) Comments and constructive criticism are very welcome as i'm new to this photography lark.
