31  Re: Cat Hammocks in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by lindsycarranza on: October 29, 2009 09:59:15 AM
Oh the hammocks and the kitty's are adorable, my DH is severely allergic to cats though Sad

But when I was younger I had one of those corner hammocks for all my stuffed animals, it hung from a corner in my room near the ceiling, I wonder if something like that would work to make the hammock idea home friendly..

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about:

If you didn't mind putting holes in the walls to make it more secure you could use dry wall mounts (they go into the wall and the you screw into it) and hanging hooks like this:

Just some ideas Smiley

32  Halloween Package for my PenPal in Completed Projects by lindsycarranza on: October 27, 2009 07:21:35 PM
Okay so I decided to post this in Misc. because there are a bunch of different item in this package but I wanted to post it as one post.

First is a pumpkin pin cushion, I was really proud of this one, I wanted to keep it! Guess I'll just have to make another Smiley
I "stole" some sand from my Apt. complex sand volleyball court and put some in the bottom to give it a bit of weight. It's made out of felt and since I didn't have any orange thread I colored my white thread with an orange highlighter LOL! Needless to say my hands were orange for the rest of the day Smiley

I had some pumpkin buttons so I made earrings out of them, using a really hot needle heated with a lighter I put holes in the stems for the split rings

A pumpkin pillow Smiley

Red horn hair clips, the horns are felt hot glued to hair clips

Pumpkin and Ghosts magnets I hand drew these on wooden discs and using two part epoxy attached them to really strong magnets

For her two kiddos Sucker Ghosts Smiley Just tissue paper tied over suckers and drew faces on

Felt bat stuffy his wings needed to be larger but I only had some much felt

And the card:

Finally I puts together a simple book of crafts for kids for her two girls:

Thanks for looking Smiley

33  Re: My Craft Space in my Bedroom UPDATED PICS PG 3&4 in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by lindsycarranza on: October 06, 2009 07:55:09 PM
Okay well I've updated a few things and thought I'd share Smiley

This I reorganized a bit, my photo albums are now on display

The wall behind my desk was getting destroyed, with paint, pencil shavings, etc... so I decided to wash it off the best I could and cover it up before it got worse, especially since I'm renting, wish I would have thought of this beforehand Smiley
All it is, is card board covered in tissue paper with mod podge, edged with ribbon, then I put my cork boards back up after recovering them.

I forgot to take a pic but I did get a new chair, it's blue Smiley

And I recovered all my binders because the way I did it before was really slap together, janky, and terrible looking.....now they are pretty Smiley

Then I made and printed tags to label them:

34  Stevie Ray Vaughn Drawings in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by lindsycarranza on: July 09, 2009 05:16:00 PM
These are two drawings (done is Prisma Color colored pencils on bristol board/paper) are of singer Stevie Ray Vaughn. They were done for a friend of mine who years ago generously helped me pay my rent one month and in exchange I would do three drawings for him (the first one I did was of Jimi Hendrix)

There is a shot of him playing his guitar and a closer shot of his guitar Number 1

Thanks for looking!

35  Scrabble rack and tile Name Hanging! in Completed Projects by lindsycarranza on: July 09, 2009 05:04:32 PM
This is the second one of these I have done. I did this one a bit differently that the first. The first one I used jump rings and screw eyes to attach the letters to one another but I didn't have enough screw eyes for this one and didn't have the $ or time to order them before I had to get this in the mail (it's for my pen pal) so with this one I drilled holes through the tiles and strung them on embroidery floss. Drilling holes completely through Scrabble tiles is HARD! Needless to say I ruined a couple letters and had to paint new ones but enough blabbing and onto the pictures!

Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest! I was in a hurry. I mod podged torn scrapbook paper onto the rack and painted the tiles. The colors were supposed to alternate but I screwed up my calculations somewhere but it still works Smiley On the rack is the last name and the names hanging down are of the Mom, Dad, two daughters, two dogs, and one cat Smiley
And since I used string I had the tie it and the top to attach the names to the rack so I tied little bows to hide that a bit Smiley
Thanks for looking! Smiley

OH and I almost forgot there are super strength magnets glued the the back and some jump rings attached the the top ...so you can either set it on a ledge, stick somewhere with the magnets, or hang it up with the jump rings.

OOH and there are beads in between each tile Smiley

36  Re: My Craft Spac[IMG]http://i133.photobucket.com/ae in my Bedroom NEW PICS PG 2 in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by lindsycarranza on: May 19, 2009 04:59:14 PM
Okay I couldn't resist and just HAD to post some updated pics!! I've changed and reorganized a few things (I do that a lot sometimes!) I added some things.... I think now it's pretty close to done. I mean I'm sure I'll add things but it's pretty "done" now. There are just two major things I need, curtains and a new office chair (my office chair is SOO uncomfy it kills my back!). Now onto the pics!!
Here it is in mostly it's entirety:

Here is the other wall (sorry this pic is dark, it was sunny so my flash didn't want to go off):

Now some closer shots:

Even closer:

More Close Ups of single items:

Some additions include the ottoman that I covered with strips of fabric from old t-shirts. If you look closely there's a little butterfly in the corner. I covered some boxes in fabric from old T's for scrap fabric storage on the bookshelf. I bought a shelf from Goodwill and took it apart and painted it to display all my miniatures Smiley Putting that back together was a pain LOL! My DH got me the TV for Xmas. It's a little high where it is but that's the only place for it right now. He also got me a piece of glass to cover my beat up table which comes in INCREDIBLY handy!!! Make a mess and just scrap it right off! I put scrapbook paper under the glass. I also added some more decorated shoe boxes for storage. I LOVE shoe boxes they are so handy! I also got some new scrapbook scissors that I was super excited about, got them for a GREAT price at Wally World (I've seen sets before but they were always too pricey). Oh and you can see my One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eater Monster (My Mom got it as a Xmas gift for me when I was 18 cuz I kept playing with it at the store while Xmas shopping, I just loved that fact that I was 18 but still got toys Smiley When you squeeze it, it plays the song)

Well I think that's it! Thanks for looking Smiley

Then I decided to make some for myself, my mom, my mom in law, and two of my sisters in law Cheesy

Thanks for Looking!!!!!!!!!

Some of my pics are lost so these are the only ones I have, sorry!

39  Hand Drawn Re-coned T in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by lindsycarranza on: November 23, 2008 09:17:07 PM
I was going to wait until I had more done to post but I was so excited I couldn't wait! Plus it might be a bit till I get more T's done cuz I've been working on ornaments like crazy! But I had this large red T that I resized to have more of a feminine shape. I already had done this with a previous red T but keep the original neckline and decided I didn't need two plain red T's. So I sketched out the words with chalk first and then just hand wrote the words Hate and Love on both sides of the shirt. I wanted the words to have a really sketchy grungy feel. I used permanent marker.

On to the pics!
