1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / 20 rows 2 times? on: October 03, 2008 10:33:30 AM
I'm working on a pair of Jillwalkers right now, and I have a quick question.  If the pattern reads:

Lacey Zigzag Pattern for Leg:
Rnd 1: k all
Rnd 2: *yo, k8, sl2, k1, psso, k8, yo, k1* (repeat to end of the round)
Work these 2 rounds 20 times

At the end of this will I have 20 rows or 40?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / altered altoids/gum tin on: April 21, 2008 01:38:19 PM
I always have a couple packs of gum in my purse, mostly half empty, or maybe just one piece left in them.  Very annoying.  So I altered an altoids tin to keep all of my gum in.  I'm not too concerned with keeping the flavors separate, I only buy flavors I like, and they don't hang around in the tin long enough to all start tasting alike.

I received the music from one of my tip-in swap partners and wanted to use it with this bird image.

I may rip the top paper off of the inside of the tin.  I like it, but I think I might like it better gone.

I slipped in a little bit of the music on the inside edge.  I wanted it to be very unobtrusive, and purposefully unaligned since I like things very plain and simple.  Although now that I look at it I think I should have maybe used a deckle edge?

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / joining new yarn? on: February 18, 2008 02:11:50 PM
I am knitting my very first project (Harry Potter sweater from Charmed Knits) and have come to the point that I need to add another ball of yarn.  Is it generally better/easier to join yarn in the middle of a row or at the end?  I am not switching colors, stitches etc, I just want to keep on doing the St stitch.
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / prayer journal on: October 16, 2007 09:11:45 AM
I am in charge of the girls dept. at our church.  We made these prayer journals.

The cover

We made three different torn edge designs

and we made pockets out of each torn page for notes, thoughts, etc.

Each girl was allowed to decorate with whatever papers, punches, stamps, etc. how they wanted.  They used a LOT of glitter Wink

Of course they said mine looked like a grandma journal Cheesy

This is a FBB I made for the Tim Burton swap round 2.  I love the stripeyness of it and the little zero pin.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / recon jeans to skirt on: June 13, 2007 08:00:59 AM
Hi guys! wanted to show off my newest recon skirt!  used to be either my husbands or sons jeans. I don't know which, cuz no one will claim them now Grin  I used a bleach pen to outline the flowers, then used a fine tip sharpie to draw them on after the bleach was washed out.  Let me know what you think!

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / altered cooking/sewing books on: June 12, 2007 09:34:17 AM
Hi!  This is my very first post ever! Cheesy I'm so excited!  My mom used to own these books, so when i saw them at a junk store I knew I had to make these purses.  Only thing is my mom and mom in law think they are too small  Undecided  Guess they are used to carrying something more like a suitcase Wink  what do you all think?
