1  Re: kissing ball made with old holiday cards? Anyone know how? in Winter Holidays by Talen05 on: December 06, 2007 07:47:34 PM
After following the sites listed on this thread, I was enthralled with how beautiful these could be, and made my own version!  Thank you, I had never even heard of these before this!

2  Re: Felt ornaments in Winter Holidays by Talen05 on: December 06, 2007 02:54:01 PM
I finally finished my christmas ball!  lol, only took a couple of weeks!  Undecided to be fair I did make my Nan a bag and have almost finished a poppet, and a kissing ball, so I've dabbled in a few things, but here is my first of many christmas balls, I filled it with potpourri I haven't hung it with a ribbon, as I need to get to the shops, but have used some thread for the time being!  The next ones may be a bit more simple, to speed up the process for this year!

Pretty much just copied your ball (only my stitches aren't quite as neat!),  Leelou, thanks for the pattern!

3  Tulip bag for my Nan in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Talen05 on: December 05, 2007 12:02:59 AM
I made this bag because my Nan was looking everywhere for a bag to put her knitting in whilst she is out, she does a lot of sitting and waiting, while my Mum and I run into each shop, walking around tires her out some,  I found this pattern in the Handmade magazine and was really impressed with how cute it turned out.

Hope you like it!

4  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by Talen05 on: December 04, 2007 11:13:39 PM
Hi, this is my first poppet, still has a lot of work to come, like the back of the eye posts (trying to decide to do or not to do  eyelids, more stuffing, sewing each body part closed, hair (as you can see we are trialling hair colour at the moment!  Oh and actually joining the limbs, body sculpting umm, clothes!  So much to do still!  Please let me know what you think!
Thank you Ghilie for the pattern, this has brought my daughter and I much pleasure!  Even hubby thought my poppet was cute! (He did liken it to one of those siamese cats - the shaved ones!)

6  My First Sewing attempt, made a little while ago in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Talen05 on: November 07, 2007 11:34:00 AM
I made this bag for my sister for her birthday earlier this year.  This was the first thing I actually sewed, ever!  I also made one in blue fabrics for my other sister, unfortunately I didn't get a photo, and who knows what could have happened to the bad since then! Smiley

this bag I made for a friend when she found out she was pregnant! Not quite a nappy bag, but more for all the extras that don't fit in the nappy bag...

7  My baby's first Birthday Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by Talen05 on: November 06, 2007 06:14:08 PM
I thought I'd post my first ever quilt with my first ever attempt at applique, that I made for my baby's 1st Birthday!  I'm pretty proud of it, and would love to hear what you all think.  I've been lurking here for quite a while, waiting to post something like this.

Hope you like it!

8  Re: Show off your cake decorating skills! in Dessert by Talen05 on: November 06, 2007 06:09:37 PM
I made this fairy castle cake for my baby's 1st Birthday.  This is my first attempt at a decorated cake, we were pretty happy with it, even though I put the icing on the middle layer of cake before it had cooled completely, and it's a little lopsided, but for a hot day it held up well! Smiley

hope the photo works, I haven't posted one before.
