1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Red Carpet Convertible Sizing Question on: June 29, 2007 10:28:33 AM
Hi all.  I posted this question to the Sexy Knitter's Club but haven't gotten a lot of answers yet.  Craftster has been so good to me, so I figured that I'd try here  Smiley

I'm looking at the Red Carpet Convertible pattern and noticed the sizing. For a medium (bust size 38"), the stated finished measure ment is 40". I'm confused - doesn't a garment of this nature usually have negative ease instead of positive ease? For example, Annie's corset top has a 1" negative ease. I measured out 40" on my 38" bust body and it seems like it would be awfully loose. Any ideas?

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What to do with super-bulky mohair? on: May 14, 2007 11:53:33 PM
I have an extra ball of Lion Brand Romance in my stash that I'd like to use for something, but I can't seem to figure out what to do with it.  Here are its stats:

Super Bulky
Suggested gauge: 11 sts/14 rows = 4 in. on size 11 needles
85% Acrylic, 15% Mohair
480 yds

Link to lion brand website with more yarn details

The yarn isn't very well supported - there are only 4 knit patterns written for it.  I already made the Spring Fresh Shrug pattern (link to my previous craftster post), and I'd like to make something else with the yarn.  Any suggestions?
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Spring Fresh Shrug on: May 11, 2007 05:58:05 PM
I just finished the Spring Fresh Shrug, which is a free pattern available from Lion Brand.  This is probably the first full sweater pattern I've finished, and I have to say I really like the finished product.  The pattern... well... I didn't like that so much.  More details can be found on my blog.

And now a picture for your enjoyment:
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Dishcloth & Hotpad patterns? on: May 02, 2007 06:48:07 PM
I'm looking for a dishcloth &/or hotpad pattern with a sunflower theme.  Does anybody know where to find one?  I've searched craftster and the internet and can't seem to find any  Undecided

Thanks in advance for your help!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Interweave Knits Summer Preview on: April 19, 2007 07:12:43 PM
The new Interweave Knits Summer preview is up.

I really like the new stuff, although I found it odd to have so many long-sleeved projects for summer  Undecided

Can't wait for it to come out!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Wario Pulse Warmers on: April 18, 2007 08:57:38 PM
My hubby absolutely adores Wario.  I wanted to make him something with the Wario logo on it, so he helped me design a chart and I made some pulse warmers:

I did it way more complicated than I had to.  Instead of knitting it flat, I made it in the round, which meant fair isle & intarsia in the round.  This being my first color project, it was pretty difficult, but it came out in the end.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for Preemie patterns on: April 09, 2007 10:31:36 AM
My friend just had a preemie baby, and I'd like to knit quite a few things for her since it'll be quick (so small) and she can't really find clothes that will fit her baby (including hats, socks, mittens, etc.)  Does anyone know where I can find preemie patterns?  I've found a few online but they're all ... well ... not very attractive.

By the way, the baby is a girl and is almost 5 lbs.

8  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Isabella Knitalong on: March 27, 2007 03:47:17 PM
I've noticed that no one has started an Isabella Knitalong yet, so I thought that I'd start one.

This batch of Knit Picks Palette in Apricot came in the mail today.  Once I get my Yorick finished (so close!), I'm going to start swatching!

Anyone else in?
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Scrooged Vestee on: March 22, 2007 04:56:08 PM
I've already posted this in the completed projects section (Link to post), but someone referred me here.  I didn't even know about the knitting challenges!

I'm definitely a thrifty knitter, so this is awesome!  Here's my entry - Vestee from the current issue of Knitty.

Here's the receipt:

2 balls of Lion Brand Wool-Ease for regular price of $2.49 each, less 40% coupon discount of $2, total price $2.98.

I only used 1.5 balls, so my prorated total price is only $2.24!

Yeah - I'm cheap Smiley  But it still made a good gift!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Is felted wool machine-washable/dryable? on: March 20, 2007 06:01:39 PM
I'm just wondering, since you machine-wash wool in hot water to felt it, does that mean that after felting, the piece is machine washable and/or dryable?

Thanks for the help!
