Here's rectangels towel! She has a great 50's theme going on so I thought this would be suitable! The one side is kinda wonky and it looks better in person. Had a great time everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA...the past couple weeks have been CRRRRRRRRRAZY!!!!!!!! Love all the stitching! My towel is lookin good! Looks like there's a nice sport for me to add a fishy too! No worries I sew cute! I was late a few days with aada's towel (which I FEEL AWFUL ABOUT!!!!). I forgot it at a relative's that lives really far away!
Sad I just realized today I haven't even posted the pic. Its SUCH a bad photo. My cam is no good.

Here's the towel so far. I don't know how the apron will be made...so I don't know if there will be any room for rectangel to stitch? I'm sure she'll come up with something great though! She always does!

I'm working on rectangels right now...Its lookin pretty nice so far I must say!

Here is my little progress.

Unfortunately I'm putting it away and starting a new project. My 5 year old Siamese name MacGyver just recently passed and I'm going to x-stitch a photo of him when he was a kitten. Its going to take me FOREVER as its pretty big! Here's the photo.

8  Angelique Hootkamp Water paintings in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by doo_leroux on: August 03, 2009 10:07:56 PM
Here are a few water paintings I did. I plan to do more bigger ones. The pics were taken in a dark room with artificial lights so they're not that great.

I've been looking FOREVER to find the original artist as I just saved the images without noting her name. Her name is Angelique Hootkamp and does AMAZING work. I plan on doing more of her designs. Check out her website www.salonserpent.com. SO GOOD!

Thanks for looking! Cheesy

WOO HOO I have the internet at home again! And as promised here are the pics!!

Here is the wine caddy with the decanter and a wine glass. The decanter was provided in the package which has an "A" etched into in that you can't really see in the photos unfortunately. You can however see the coasters and bookmark she made that go on a hook. It is being displayed on the deck on my mom's new bistro table which I think is very fitting. There was also a wine bottle opener that she forgot to include in the pics!

And here it is with the decanter and a wine bottle with the interchangeable piece included.

Thanks again Crafty_Canadian!!!!     Tongue

10  Beginner questions regarding fusible web and the best way to applique using it in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by doo_leroux on: March 12, 2009 10:08:28 AM
I'm making my first quilt that will hopefully look somewhat like the one below.

I am wondering about the wing coloured parts. Would I cut the fabric with holes in in to fit in the circle parts or would I just layer everything on top of each other?

I bought fusible web and tried it on a scrap piece but it doesn't stick very well and I'm worried about the pieces peeling off in the wash or something. I don't know if I used it wrong or if I got the cheap stuff. When I went to the fabric store I just got pointed to the aisle where it was and it was with a bunch of interfacing and I had no idea what I was supposed to get (as nothing had labels). I just picked up the one that looked most web-like!

Does this method work or should I just do it the old fashioned way and applique it with thread?
