21  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Re: Little Garden Pond on: May 10, 2011 06:47:47 AM
That pond is so neat, I love it.  I looks relaxing and also I like how you made a home for the amphibians.  I am happy that you caught the snake and released it somewhere else instead of killing it like many people do. =0)  I like the plants and the rocks also.....I like everything ah ha.  Nice job.
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: $98 Anthropologie Replica from a $2 thrift store shirt! on: April 17, 2011 08:35:12 AM
Wow, that is so neat.  $2 and the time it took compared to $98.....that is just great!  What savings.
23  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Overlay Crochet motif on: April 17, 2011 08:25:14 AM
I have never heard of Overlay Crocheting before either, but that is beautiful. Love the colours and design!
24  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / Re: Knockers for your Knockers!! on: April 17, 2011 08:21:43 AM
Just by the small thumbnail picture, I knew what this was exactly, so cool!  Love it. Very nicely done.
25  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Fishies in jars! on: April 06, 2011 11:47:41 AM
These are terribly cute!  Amazing detail, I love the octopus.
26  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Re: lids for huge watercontainers on: April 03, 2011 07:42:51 PM
Wow, I was instantly drawn to these. Did you have to coat them in a protective sealant?  I think they are beautiful, they look like a mosaic.  That is a neat idea to dress up your garden.

Yes, I did. I added latex to the glue I used and put 3 extra layers of clear lacquer on top.  ( this is the method I've used for outside papermache stuff for years, it used to work perfectly) Unfortunately I only found out afterwards that german factories don't produce waterproof lacquer any more. I tried to rescue what I could in the fall, but I'm told they did not survive the winter. So I guess I'll give it another try as soon as it's warm outside again and I've imported waterproof lacquer for somewhere =)

That is too bad that they didn't make it through the rough weather.  I guess it is bad for the environment.  I hear here in Ontario Canada that they are going to stop making and selling certain paints and varnishes aswell too.  What are we crafty people to do.   Huh
27  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: 1/4 inch Plywood to Finished Plank Floor on: April 03, 2011 07:11:46 PM
I think you did a fantastic job on the floor.  From the before to the after, big change.  I know what it is like to not have the funds for stuff.  But this looks good for just being plywood.  I am interested so now I am going to check out your link.  I have some floors that need to be re-done.  Good job.
28  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Re: Plasticine Clay Mold for Mermaid Sculpture on: April 02, 2011 06:11:17 AM
Wow! That is really cool, great job!
Thanks PixieVal! Wink

They look wonderful... I love the scales and the articulation of the hands. I'm interested to see how they translate to mache!
Thanks AnarchyCupcakes, I am also wondering what it is going to look like once in paper mache, soon I will find out.  I am hoping to get some time to work on it soon lol.

Thanks again for the comments. Grin
29  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Plasticine Clay Mold for Mermaid Sculpture on: April 01, 2011 07:42:36 AM
Hope it is alright to put this plasticine clay in this section.
This is a mermaid face I sculpted out of plasticine clay for a mermaid sculpture I am making out of paper mache.  I also made some hands.  These will be used as a mold for paper mache.
Thought I would share it before I cover it in vasiline.  Not sure what shape it will be in afterwards.....

If there are any questions I will try and answer.  Wink
