2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / beaded medical alert bracelets on: December 04, 2007 09:13:35 PM
I was looking for a medical alert bracelet because I knew I needed to wear one, and I saw beaded bracelets on ebay and agreed if I have to wear it every day it might as well be pretty. Cheesy But I just couldn't afford to pay $50 for a bracelet. So...

I made my own pretties.
all my bracelets

You just can't go wrong with denim

This one matches the purple dress I got for my sister's wedding, and my glasses (I was silly and didn't realize that it matched my glasses until after I got the dress home)

My favorite bracelet, imitation hello kitty beads with blue cats eye beads, the cats eye beads came from a bracelet that I didn't wear much.

Dolphin bracelet,I restrung and shortened another bracelet to make this one.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Beaded Lanyard on: December 04, 2007 08:51:42 PM
I kept loosing my flash drives, so I made a pretty lanyard. I haven't lost it even once since, I just love playing with the beads, so I don't forget about it Roll Eyes.

I made it out of beads I got in a kit when I was younger and half of a rose toggle clasp.
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Expiraments with the human canvas, aka Henna Body art on: December 04, 2007 05:27:39 PM
I love drawing on people, these where done last spring and summer.

The colored designs are water color pencil and the brown designs are henna.  I used the colored pencil to draw on people first and then hennaed them.  Henna stains the skin, leaving a design on the skin after the paste comes off.

I'm new so I had to link to the images

My own designs:

Irish Soccer Fan

Memorial Cross

Dolphin (waves from The Henna Page "How To" Patterns Volume 2)

Inspired Designs:

Tare Pandas (Sanrio character)

Dragon (I used a coloring book page as a reference)

Hearts (from The Henna Page "How To" Patterns Volume 2)

5  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / hi! on: December 02, 2007 10:21:11 PM
I joined craftster quite a while ago and I am finally getting up the nerve to stop lurking and start posting! I live in Northern Iowa and love to sew, and draw and paint and do all sorts of artsy and crafty things.  My sewing machine has it's own table in my dorm room this year, last year my sewing machine had the desk and my computer was relegated to the arm chair! Wink(not the best arrangement for homework)

I'm a bit of a procrastinator and have lots of projects to finish, but I love doing them. Grin
