1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / New Grey Dress! on: March 01, 2008 09:38:25 AM
I'm at college in my home town, and there is no room for a sewing machine in my tiny dorm room. I went home last night to keep an eye on my dad, who just had surgery. So I had a chance to sew for the first time in months. This is not the dress I set out to make, but I like it!

PS when I was getting frustrated with the fabric whille I was sewing and wishing I had a serger, my dad said: "It's okay, I have a serger! Surgery!" Oh dad, how punny! Must have been the pain killers.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Scarf Dresses on: December 21, 2007 09:52:33 PM
I was in Cyprus this summer and they had dresses like this in a lot of the boutiques. Of course, they were expensive, especially with the exchage rate, so I made my own...and just got around to posting them. Embarrassed Sorry about the picture quality, I took them with photobooth Grin

I've seen things like this recently in urban outfitters too.

[I'm having picture troubles....sorry!] I know these shouldn't have to be links since they are on craftster, but it's not working, sorry, I'm new to picture posting!

This one is made out of sparkly scarfs from Tijuana, Mexico.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Great Places to buy fabric in New York? on: February 28, 2007 09:17:41 PM
Hello everyone!

I'm going to New York next week and I thought that a cool thing to buy there would be fabrics. The options are bound to be much better there than I find here in Ohio, considering all the fashion designers and such.

This may not be the best forum for this question, but if anyone knows of some great fabric stores in New York I would love to hear about it. The only one I know of is Mood Fabrics cause I saw it on Project Runway. Undecided
