1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Too many crafts to keep on: April 27, 2010 01:08:42 AM
I have too many things, including crafts. I tried to get rid of some, but I feel so un-easy to de-part from them.

Crafts materials/tools, I ask myself how often will I use them, I get rid of some of them. Still many.

Finished crafts project (the major problem), I feel so un-easy to get rid of them, coz I mean I spent lots of time and effort to make them. But there's too much?

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Looking for a pattern of Chinese jacket, "mandarin" collar on: March 20, 2010 12:39:17 AM
I am looking for a pattern of a Chinese jacket, mandarin collar, like those in kungfu movie. I tried searching online, not much luck. I know there's folkware, but it doesn't seems to be what I am looking for. Also, I want to look for more choice.

My last hope is here, thank you....

EDIT: the females in the photo

extra.......2nd goal....
The difference is just the 'diagonal' ? and collar the same?

3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Traditional cultural costume patterns on: March 17, 2010 07:01:53 PM

Folkware is the only source I know.

Have you use other brand of pattern?

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Tracing paper to trace sewing pattern. Any suggestion of paper? on: December 24, 2009 03:35:05 AM
I want to tracing the sewing pattern on a paper, and use that paper instead. So the paper needs to be transparent and hopefully in a roll.

Blank sewing pattern paper is expensive.
Gifting tissue paper tear easily.
Brown packing paper cannot see thru.
Parchment paper (baking) doesn't stick when i tried to tape two paper together, and also pencil mark will gradually come off.

I heard that some types of drafting paper works. (I think it's drafting paper use for constructing buildings). I think there are many types of drafting paper? I wish some that is durable, can be written on it and stick on tape. What type should I use?

And any extra suggestion?

8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Washable fabric pencil not washable? on: September 16, 2008 03:52:17 AM
It's my first time trying to sew clothes, glad I done, anyways....
I washed the clothes in the washing machine, but that fabric pencil mark didn't come off.

What should I do to make the marks come off? (without bleaching)
9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / no serger, how to prevent fabric fray on: August 18, 2008 11:49:10 PM
I know nothing about sewing. I have a machine, that is kind of working (sometimes), someone give it to me, anyways...

I have no serger, what can I do to prevent fabric fray?

do I need to fold the fabric once? or even twice? wouldn't that be too stiff??

no fold, instead, I just zic zac the fabric with that zic zac function in the machine?

The zic zac is not working anymore. It was the same situation last time, and the machine almost down.
