1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Dual Handled Recycled Bag on: October 11, 2017 09:09:48 AM
I am still crocheting with recycled plastic bags and here is my latest. It is a dual handled tote bag with a hand grip as well as a shoulder strap. It is mainly done with Safeway bags and a few newspaper sacks for the red stripe.

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Recycled Plastic Striped Grocery Tote on: October 27, 2012 07:17:19 PM
Here is my latest recycled grocery tote bag. I crocheted it using plastic bags cut 1 inch wide and added stripes using pink newspaper bags and some blue plastic bags. I designed this bag with a wide 12 inch base to hold lots of stuff. It's 18 inches across at the top and stands 12 inches tall. This is my new to-go grocery tote bag.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Plarn Gingham Purse on: October 07, 2012 10:34:14 AM
Here is a gingham purse I crocheted with recycled plastic bags. The project uses about 15 white, grey, and black plastic bags. I cut them about 1 inch wide and assembled them using the looping method. I used a three color gingham style to crochet the shell with half double crochet stitches with a N (9 mm) hook. I lined the bag, added a magnetic closure and some store bought plastic handles.

I'm always looking for new and unique ways I can craft with plarn so doing a gingham design was a new challenge and after several attempts, this was the final product.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / How about some Camo Plarn? on: July 26, 2010 02:58:51 PM
I present two of my camo plarn ditty bags. The first one is winter camo made from black, white and grey recycled plastic bags. The second one is just regular camo with lots of colors like orange, tan, brown, white, grey, and green. It's a great way to use up odd colors and random bags you may have.

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Recycled T-Shirt Flower Baby Bib on: July 12, 2010 07:08:15 PM
I got this free pink t-shirt at my thrift store as it had a bleach stain. I cut it into 1/4" wide strips and crocheted this baby bib. I added the flowers to spice it up a bit. See pattern at my blog if you'd like to crochet this.

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Denim Oven Mitt on: June 06, 2010 09:09:03 AM
Here is my oven mitt I made from recycled denim. I made the denim shell first and the lining pieces separate. Once I finished the lining, I just inserted it inside the denim oven mitt.

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Recycled Denim Coaster on: May 22, 2010 01:09:33 PM
Here is a denim coaster I made by using two hem strips from a pair of jeans. You cut the hems real close and glue it together.

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / VCR Tape Designer Bag on: May 02, 2010 06:34:47 PM
I just finished up my first official designer purse made from recycled vcr tape. The bag was crocheted using two strands of vcr tape held together using a N crochet hook. I then lined it and put a magnetic closure inside and a button outside on the flap.

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Plarn Fat Bottom Bag on: April 17, 2010 01:37:51 PM
I finally crocheted my first fat bottom bag. This project was crocheted from about 40+ plastic newspaper bags I recycled using a N crochet hook. I added a center flap and lined the bag with some clearance fabric I found at my local Ben Franklins.

I really enjoyed working this pattern and want to try it again using wool yarn.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Recycled Denim Baby Bibs on: April 05, 2010 07:49:49 PM
Here are a couple of denim baby bibs I made from some old jeans. The first one I used a trimmed side seam for the ties and the other one I just used some ribbon. They are pretty easy to make and are very durable for washing too.
