61  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Pricing Help - opinions appreciated. I am beginner on: March 04, 2007 04:43:56 PM
Hi everyone!
I made a tote for my friends birthday and I really enjoyed doing it and   my husband thinks I am doing a pretty good job. Smiley
My friends and my family LOVED it and thought they were store-bought which got me thinking maybe I should sell some. I ask my brother to for help with web site for me, he is a graphic designer, so I am waiting for his ideas. But what do you think about my work?
I could probably start to sell on ebay  But how much I could charge for those totes or purses. I make them from upholstery fabric, lining and sew-in interfacing. I also make matching flowers to it.  I usually cost me around 6-10$ for supplies (tote) and 5-7$ for purses ( of course depends on fabric and lining) and it takes me at least 5 hours total to make one, maybe I will get faster but now  it is what it is  Grin
So tell me how much I can ask for them?
 Here are the pictures

Hi everyone...
I made this pink / brown tote today, it took me 5 hours but it turn out great, I am very happy with it.  I didn't use any pattern I just cut out rectangle 44 cm by 35 cm. I used upholstery fabric, some pink lining and sew-in interfacing. So what do you think? Smiley

It's beautiful!  I would recommend that you put some frayblock on the edges of the fabric for the flowers to keep the threads in.   Wink

Thank you.. I will ask at Jo Ann fabric about it..I have not hear about something like that..but that is great idea...I was thinking if there is something to prevent the fabric fraying. thanks again.. Cheesy

Hi everyone...
This is my first post so I hope I am doing this the right way.(especially because I am still learning English Grin ) If not let me know!
I sew a  pleated tote in my version from Mgenevieve tutorial. so far it is my favorite bag now..this one is going to be a gift for my friend birthday...  I used some aqua blue corduroy and the inside is  some brown fabric I had on hand.  Smiley

I made for her two  flower (one brown , one blue) so she always can put one on her sweater or jacket if she wants to..
Happy crafting! Kiss
