1  Re: Lets See Pics of Tattoos You Designed! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by knitakitty on: July 17, 2010 12:46:33 PM
My first ink is a blue ribbon, the color of child abuse prevention. I designed the ribbon myself, and the two other people I went with got the same design! It's crazy knowing other people have my sketch on their bodies forever.

Anyway, here it is being worked on:

And here it is all healed up!

It's located on my left hip bone, because while I'm proud of my status as a 10 year survivor, sometimes I don't feel like advertising it. My bathing suit covers it perfectly, so even at the beach it's protected from the sun.

2  Hula Hoop Wreath! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by knitakitty on: March 27, 2010 07:39:59 PM
We (meaning the folks at my job) have all moved into a fabulous new building. And to celebrate, I decided to add some of myself to my new cubicle workspace. Therefore, I present to you, the hula hooping wreath!

Thanks for looking!

My job doesn't allow for "unnatural hair color", so for the six days of my vacation, I had green hair. I actually wanted turquiose, but my hair didn't bleach out completely, so yellow plus blue makes green, and this is what I got:

yes, that's a hula hoop. I am a hoop dancer! The last two were my costume at the Hooper's Ball, at the Hoop Path Retreat in North Carolina!

I teach in schools (public and private) and the school board frowns upon "unnatural" hair colors. I really want turquiose, but alas.

I decided to do some redish streaks.

I'm gonna donate my hair to Locks of Love once the red washes out.

I look like my dad! HAHAHA!

7  Pinky! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by knitakitty on: August 22, 2008 12:23:45 PM
I created this fab little octopus about two years ago, and now I finally getting around to posting it.

I made him out of some cheapy acrylic yarn I had lying around. Keep in mind that I am a very novice crocheter. Pinky is open on the bottom, so you can stick him on top of things... like the top of a water bottle.
What do you think?

8  Some of my stuff from forever ago... in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by knitakitty on: May 31, 2008 11:10:32 PM

The first, "Whisper" was a sit-in-front-of-the-tv drawing. The second, "Anam Cara" is supposed to look like Mehndi. Anam Cara means Soul Friend. The third is a therapeutic drawing that I did. It is supposed to be the door to my heart.
