11  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Fish Pincushion on: January 20, 2009 11:33:31 PM
This little fish started out as an idea for a swap. Then I remembered, she already has a lot of pincushions.  Shocked

I started out looking for fish patterns, but could not really find the shape I liked. So I just cut it out till it looked right.  I also gave it MI mitten fins.  Grin

I think this fishie already has a new home. But I want to make a few to put in a round fish bowl for fun.

Here's the promised pattern Craftsters  Grin

Things you will need
1 piece of felt
1 set 15mm or to fit safety eyes
a bit of stuffing
embroidery floss to stitch together

Pin the top fin in place, stitch the top of the body together. You will stitch from top-mouth area to the top body back-end. Don't stitch the tail together if you want to flair it out.

Attach safety eyes in place.

Sew on one side of the bottom belly, don't forget to add the fin in the right direction.  Wink

Sew up other side and leave an opening for stuffing. I went from front to about half way through the fin.

Stuff your fishie full, add a little more for good measure. Stitch closed.

You can change the size on your computer to any size you want. Tiny to big for a toy.

12  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cupcake-O-Guadalupe on: January 15, 2009 05:40:13 PM
I made this for crafty_dame for a swap we were in together.

It's tinted and embroidered. It was inspired by her Wist and wall of art she has pictured on her blog.

The finished wall hanging.

Tinted and ready to stitch.
13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Baby Zebra Print Scoodie on: December 22, 2008 07:35:03 PM
Here's the scoodie I made for the bronzfrog in the December Birthday Swap.

I used Baby Zebra Print Valboa fabric. Are baby zebras tan?? I have no idea. Tan fur, I forgot to check the fabric type.

I also used this tutorial.  Wink

My model has a very long neck, but it fits a human much better.  Cheesy

15  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / 3 Poppets on: November 23, 2008 12:23:01 PM
Here are the dolls I made for a personal swap.  I'm not going to say her name here, I don't want her kids to see it.  Wink

I made 3 outfits for the Rockabilly girl and 4 dresses for the Blue & Pink doll. But I forgot to take pictures of them.

One Rockabilly girl. I did not want to send her away.  Wink

One blue girl.

One pink girl.
16  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Garland & Owl Pillow on: September 18, 2008 12:11:56 AM
Here's the garland I made for the Fall Swap. I found something very similar to it on my partners Wist. So I followed the links and then had to figure it out a bit. Although it really was not too hard.  Wink

I bought fall colored felt for the leaves. And a pretty multi colored brown yarn to string them on.
On the site the link leads to said she used a leaf pattern from the Martha Stewart site. I'm not sure which one, but I found a pattern for leaf shaped cork coasters and used it. I printed the leaves out much bigger then they originally print out. 150% I think.

Cut 2 slices in the leaves to weave the yarn though and voila, pretty garland.  Grin

She also loves owls. I saw a blue and white owl pillow posted here on Craftster that said there was a tutorial. I could find it so I went for it and came up with this little cutie. Again, Fall colors for the Fall Swap.  Grin
All my pictures came out a bit blurry of the owl. But I hope this one is not too bad.
17  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidery From Doodle Stitch on: September 17, 2008 11:51:12 PM
I made this for the Fall Swap. I've wanted to make this for while now. When I got my partner for the Fall Swap I saw she also liked it. She had it listed on her Wist. I thought it would be amazing in Fall colors.

Here's WIP before I got it all together.

You can see the tea stain a little better here.
I changed it a tiny bit for my partner. I made it in Fall colors.  Wink I added an owl. I didn't add the flowers,  more raindrops, another radish, and changed the clouds a little bit too.

I used chain stitch and ran a blue thread through the white for the clouds.
Back Stitch
Split Stitch
Straight Stitch
Satin Stitch
Lazy Daisy Stitch
I think that's it.

I've decided I'm going to make ours into a four season wallhaning.  Well, as soon as I'm done with my swaps.  Cheesy

18  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / How do you--not sure what you call it? on: September 01, 2008 08:55:27 PM
I would love to make gorgeous quilts.

I'm not sure if there is a name for these stitches or not besides quilting.  Wink

How do you sew the swirling stitches that go through out a quilt?

How do you get in the middle?
19  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / A code sample page at the bottom of the post page. on: August 31, 2008 07:52:54 PM
I don't know all the vb codes. I would love a sample page at the bottom of our reply page to click on when we need help to post something.

The sample page could include usage, example usage & example output.

20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I Love Lucy-ish Apron Set on: August 23, 2008 07:36:20 PM
Here's the apron set I made for the Vintage Apron Swap.

I love heart shaped aprons so that's the kind I made for my partner.

While I was making it, I kept thinking about I Love Lucy. One night while I was going to sleep I thought about Lucy with a headband and knew I had to make a headband to go with the apron too.  Tongue

I love my model.  Grin

I made oven mitts to compete the set.  Kiss
