1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / 2 Amigurumi Elephants on: June 16, 2008 12:07:51 PM

I named this one Loricus

And this one is Berry

I started this pattern like a year ago and didn't find the motivation to finish it until I saw that the most recent Softie Awards had an elephant category. I'm a little late posting this to Craftster! hehe

Berry is going to be on display at one of the Crammed Organisms (http://www.crammedorganisms.com) shows. I like Loricus too much to let go of her though Smiley

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Vanna Yarn on: January 07, 2008 12:54:47 PM
I bought several colors of it and I really liked working with it because it's nice and plump, not one of those skinny worsted weights. My only complaint about it is that it's not as soft as what I normally use (red heart soft yarn usually). But it is softer than those super saver yarns. I would never make a scarf of anything out of it because I don't think I'd like it against my skin but it's great for amugurumis!

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: My boyfriend's new hat. on: January 05, 2008 01:30:34 PM
Usually whenever my close friends want a hat I'll just ask them to pay for the yarn. Or if they want to use something I already have, I might just give it to them for free since they're helping clear out my stash lol! I usually only charge if it's someone I don't really know, like a friend of a friend or something like that.
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Easiest way to make a crochet chart? on: January 05, 2008 12:53:31 PM
Is there any program or something that can be used to make crochet charts (the type you see in japanese patterns)? When I draw them out by hand they look horrible.

I agree that it looks a lot like Patons SWS - soy/wool

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick - alternative? on: December 29, 2007 05:36:44 PM
How about Caron's Simply Soft Quick? I don't have either of them handy right now so I can't compare thickness but I know it comes in baby colors.

I'm currently making a hat doing this! hehe! It's easy, you do the second one the same way you did the first. They end up over lapping a bit.
