1  2 Amigurumi Elephants in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Glee on: June 16, 2008 12:07:51 PM

I named this one Loricus

And this one is Berry

I started this pattern like a year ago and didn't find the motivation to finish it until I saw that the most recent Softie Awards had an elephant category. I'm a little late posting this to Craftster! hehe

Berry is going to be on display at one of the Crammed Organisms (http://www.crammedorganisms.com) shows. I like Loricus too much to let go of her though Smiley

2  My Nut Sacks in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Glee on: December 05, 2007 09:33:02 PM
I put these up on Flickr (sorry if you've already seen em) a few days ago but hadn't had a chance to show them off here yet. I made several sets of nut sacks hehe!

Each nut is a little bigger than the size of an egg.

I had a bunch of them sitting around on Thanksgiving and my Grandma thought they were adorable! I didn't have the heart to explain the concept to her lol!  Wink

3  Sparkley Christmas Ornament - Free Pattern Link in Crochet: Completed Projects by Glee on: December 03, 2007 03:59:53 PM
I designed this pattern using Patons Brilliant yarn, it's sparkley!  Cheesy  I made the top out of metallic embroidery floss and a really tiny hook. That took tons of patience but I think it was worth it. It looked really plain so I glued on some Swarovski crystal rhinestones in a zig zag pattern around the top.

I put the pattern in a PDF, if anyone wants to make one, you can download the pattern here: http://www.gleefulthings.com/patterns/ornament.html. You can make it with any yarn really, you just need to adjust your hook size accordingly so that your stitches are tight.

4  Free People Star Stitch Hat? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by Glee on: November 28, 2007 01:55:10 PM
I saw this hat in the new Free People catalog and I was gonna make one but can't figure out what kinda stitch this is. It's not like any star stitch I can find. I found this one on about.com: http://crochet.about.com/library/blstar_stitch.htm and I have a book with a completely different star stitch in it. It's basically (dc, ch 1) rep 3 times all in 1 stitch = one star stitch. But I tried both of those and neither look anything like this hat. Does anyone know what it might be?  Sad

6  My Snail Costume! in Halloween Costumes by Glee on: November 02, 2007 05:05:01 PM
I would have posted this sooner but it was a totally last minute thing and the only pictures I got were taken on Halloween. I didn't make the dress. I just made the eyes and shell. The shell was super simple, just a long tube filled with stuffing (it took three 20oz bags!) and rolled up. I used ric rac for straps and that ended up being a horrible idea because the front of my shoulders are bruised from it now. The eyes are made from felt. I bought one of those headbands with springs with pom poms on the end, ripped off the pom poms and just made my eyes over the springs.

I love how it turned out! I think this is the first time I've made a costume that I was totally happy with! Smiley I wanted to wear some cute yellow heels but I spent the night walking around Hollywood so that would have been a horrible idea.

a sorta closeup of the eyes:

"That's not mint"

"Fresh Mold" I couldn't think of a better name for that one...

9  A family of Blue Birds and their nest! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Glee on: May 07, 2007 05:26:18 PM
I'm not really sure why but I'd been wanting to make a nest for a while. And of course there had to be birds to go inside it too!  Smiley

10  Re: Gullies.. my wierd amigurumi birds in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Glee on: May 07, 2007 11:38:50 AM
Here's two more!

A normal one:

And my prototype I guess you'd call it. This is the first one I made. I ended up changing everything except for the shape of the body and the eyes. I really liked that he had legs but he doesn't stand on his own and that bothered me so I ditched the leg idea  Undecided
