1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Felted slippers (I <3 bev galeskas!) on: December 25, 2008 09:29:56 AM
2 pairs of felted slippers -

1) Christmas gift for the pops - these were a bit of a frustrating knit but I love how they turned out!

2) Christmas gift for me - this is my fave "fun-fur" project ever!

Both are from "Felted Knits" by Bev Galeskas.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / big ole beret + smitten mittens on: December 25, 2008 09:26:39 AM
my new holiday set - quick to knit and fun to wear!  the crazy part is that these mittens were knit flat, and then joined with a single crochet.  way simple.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / kitty cat wrap on: October 20, 2008 07:40:06 PM
Knit a lovely little sweater for my precious kitty - doesn't she look thrilled?

yarn: some leftover red heart strata

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitting Fun. . . . on: June 12, 2008 06:28:15 AM
I haven't posted on Craftster in ages - here are pics of some of my recent knitting projects:

Here are some baby Uggs I made from a Knitty Gritty pattern for a baby shower.  I made a matching felted yoda hat which didn't felt up quite as much as I would have liked.

Cable armwarmers out of Caron Simply Soft to go with one of those trendy elbow length coat.

Twinkle's Karate Sweater out of double-stranded Bernat Softee Chunky.  Unfortunately, I did not read the correct needle size and used the standed 19's, so its a bit small.

Simple scarflette out of double-stranded Caron Simply Soft for a friend's birthday present.

This was a fabulous stash buster, and a great Christmas present for my mom.

Enjoy!  Many hours of fun knitting.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help with wedding dress recon. . . . . on: March 02, 2008 05:39:25 AM
I'm a bride on a budget looking for a unique wedding dress - something classic with a hint of a modern twist.  This dress came FREE from freecycle (can't beat free!) but is a few sizes too big and I'd like to make it a little more current.  The rose lace is absolutely gorgeous!

Here's some pics:

I'm going to pick it up today, but looking at the pics I'm not quite sure what to do with it besides shorten the sleeves and add a sash:

Anyone have some amazing suggestions?  I really love the old hollywood glam style to get us started in a direction, but am open to anything.  Perhaps I am in over my head here.  HELP:)
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Twinkle by Wenlan Cardis on: December 26, 2007 04:24:42 PM
Two super-cute Twinkle sweaters I'm dying to make, because there is no way I can afford them!

Love the basket-weave cable:

So cute:
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Lion Brand Jean's Felted Clutch on: December 26, 2007 01:24:43 PM
Just knitted this up for New Year's Eve.  Got the yarn super cheap at hobby lobby and wasn't quite sure what to do with it.  It didn't end up totally felting, but it felted enough that the stitches stick together and nothing will fall out.  Very quick and easy knit.

Yarn: Yarn Bee Mosaic Twist in flashy
Pattern: Lion Brand Jean's Felted Clutch

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Wine Cozy on: December 26, 2007 12:48:09 PM
Christmas present for my mom --she loved it!  Very quick knit, and good stash buster.

yarn: yarn bee boucle traditions
pattern: tara's knits http://taras-knits.blogspot.com/2007/11/wine-bottle-cozy.html
embellishments: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/PATTwinecozy.html

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Can you felt Mosaic Twist? on: December 18, 2007 03:19:37 PM
Bought some Yarn Bee Mosaic Twist at Hobby Lobby today on super sale.  I'm really hoping it can be felted into a pretty little clutch, but it is a wool blend rather than straight wool:

--36% polyamide, 11% cotton, 35% wool, and 18% acrylic

Anyone know if this can be felted?  I tried the "felting test" here: http://www.getknitting.com/ak_0601felting.aspx.  The fibers seem to stick together okay.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Basic Earflap Hat on: October 28, 2007 11:06:33 AM
Just in time for fall - a cozy earflap hat.  This hat definitely won't get lost in my closet.  The yarn is really fun, and even better it was on clearance for only $1/skein.

Pattern: http://heyjulie.wordpress.com/2006/06/27/basic-earflap-hat/

Awesome pattern, super quick knit, and easy to follow.
