Original Art

YB Crazy art...trying not to be “crazy” in this stressful world.

These are Zendoodles, making them even lowers your blood pressure. The last few times I visited the dr I made one while I was waiting....and guess what, I had a normal BP, a first I think ever at the dr's.

Why be crazy ?

      YB Crazy Books

YB Crazy Books are the end result of trying not to be crazy after a very rough year.

      • They are tiny books.
      • The smallest like the one above is about 1.5" x 1.5".
      • The larger ones are 3" square.
      • They each have 7 blank tags that you can pull out and write whatever you like.

Journal on them, write a little note, make lists of why you love someone...there is no limit to what you can do to customize them. Look here to see my thoughts on filling those tags.
The larger ones you could add wallet size photos or custom cut prints.

Saw a couple of these posted and had to try one for myself....such a cute idea.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Advice on modifying husky boy's pants on: April 26, 2007 10:24:59 AM
I bought my son some camo cargo pants (great deal $4.97) for $40 pants. Problem is they didn't quite fit....needs another 2"-2.5 inches at the waist. The hip and length are good. He can zip them about half way up.
I doubt they have the next size, and since they were cheap and I have been worshiping this site....I thought perhaps I could extend them and make them elastic waisted. Anybody with experience in husky boys clothes?

      Thanks for any advice.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Limes and oranges shirred top..? on: April 19, 2007 12:08:08 PM
My first attempt at shirring a top....I added 4 inches to dd's chest measurement. Looks like I should have added more. The top shirred in very tightly. I was difficult for her to get into. She wanted to know if there was supposed to be a zipper or something so she can get it on....giggle.

As you can see, it is only about 1/3 of her size. Looks like a dress for a 3 yr old. What should I have done differently?...wider cloth or was my elastic thread wound too tight?

Please ignore the tank straps...I have pretty lime green ribbon with pink polkadots to make straps, but as it is too snug I haven't put them on.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Seashell bitty booties on: April 15, 2007 09:11:37 AM
These are 0-3 month size....and made so I could line them and not have any raw edges inside.

I put a little tissue in them so they would hold their shape when I tied them.

There are reasons to keep a basket of beach rock handy.....
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Sleeveless top for daughter on: April 14, 2007 04:32:58 PM
Very easy---except the collar. Think there was a miss print on cutting and the directions weren't clear. I had to wing it...if had never sewn I would have made a mess. Simplicity 7191

      Now for a silly smile....

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little yellow ducky farm dress on: April 14, 2007 04:24:46 PM
Here's today's creation----little duck dress from the same pattern as the "funky frog dress".

Had a tough time hemming the flounce on the bottom, but I guess if you don't inspect it too closely it'll pass. It's supposed to have that little opening in the middle.

Note the buttons...bought them and then found the fabric.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Bitty Booties (Ducky/chick) on: April 14, 2007 06:41:26 AM
Here's my first attempt at baby shoes---the pattern is from
Heather Bailey's Bitty Bootie pattern (free) http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/heather_bailey/2006/06/bitty_booties.html

The fabric under the booties will soon be an apron for my mom foro Mother's Day....isn't beautiful!
