Hmm, I've been hesitant to write about where I'm at because I'm homesick and I am counting the days till I retire so I can go back to Oahu.  Rockville, MD is ok I guess...it's just not home.  I love the free museums here, the Cherry Blossom Fest, carnivals, Ren Fair, etc.  In terms of craft stores things are much better here than in Hawaii and the sales at Michaels and ACMoore are awesome.  Nothing though can beat hanging out in Hawaii though...the people are awesome, the food is awesome, everything is awesome.  I just miss my home and my people. Smiley  Another place that I love is NY...they have L&L there a local Hawaiian food chain with ono grinds!!  And in both NJ and NY they have awesome Japanese book stores.  I am going in a few weeks to take Lana to the amusement park in NJ and then treat us to some Japanese noodles and then go on a craft book spree.  Smiley  I wanted to go home, but decided that $5K could be better used on mini trips around the area and craft supplies.  Smiley

awww. ((hugs)).

well normally i'm happy i live in london now cause los angeles has always been WAY too hot for me (although london is pretty friggin hot today Tongue)! it would be nice to pop over to some other places in europe, but if i wanted to have enough cash to do that i'd have to work far more and craft way less. the shopping is different here than the mini-malls and malls in the states, so i'd have to say i prefer shopping there (gimme target and michael's anytime!!). i think we should do foreign exchange crafting, where we stay at each other's houses for a summer/winter!  Grin

That would be awesome!  Seriously.  I'd love to visit London....and Amsterdam....and, and, and, and. Lol Smiley

There are probably at least 10 or more craft stores w/i 15 min drive of me. Cheesy

but at least some of them look pretty.  (The others kinda look like barf...)   Cheesy

Hehehe....you need to work on your sales technique!!!  Wink  IE market them as "earthy" colours..... Wink

It'd be neat to do a "craftster tour" of sorts.  Each person as a rep for their home, and tourguide for the rest of us. Smiley

I live in Victoria, BC, Canada...home of mild weather, plentiful gardens, and very little snow (ie two or three days per year. One day this year. lol).

We've got numerous colleges/universities, beautiful scenic views, and are generally more laid back. The pace of life here is not as frantic as you find in large cities, despite being a fairly large one itself.  We have good public transit, and everything is pretty easy to get to--not too much traffic.  And, being and island, lots of ocean views Wink

Let's start the tour! Smiley

Good evening folks!

I've finally got some new stuff to post. Cheesy  Strawberry baby hat, super cute baby sockies, donut stitch markers, and a pair of slippers.

Provocative robot says "go look!" (robot not for sale....right now, anyways)

I seem to be over my knitting rut (thank goodness) so I'll have a couple knitted things to post tonite.   Cool

Is there any interest in one of those beaded knit bracelets that I did several rounds ago?  I have one in mind w/ a gold theme--findings and a lovely antiqued thread colour with some vintage beads to boot.  I just dont' want to make it unless there's some interest b/c they're a PITA to make. Smiley

I'm so tired today--I stayed up way too late knitting  Roll Eyes  I feel geriatric now--midnight used to be the norm. Lol.

18  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Shop the Swap 14 - Shop Posts Only on: May 05, 2008 10:03:57 AM
CLOSED!  Sorry!/b]

One Point:

These are my first pair.  They took freakin' forever, but I'm listing them at one point b/c they are quite small. I figure about a 5-6 ladies (or kids).  75% acrylic, 25% wool, so you can machine wash them.  I'd still put them in a delicates bag, and maybe cold wash.  The flowers are straight; my photography, regrettably, is not. Cheesy
I can put a mary jane style strap on them w/ a button if you'd like, just ask.  No extra pointage. Smiley

Pair One:
Tahitian black pearl, sage peridot swarovski crystal and diamond faceted sterling silver accent bead.  All sterling silver components.
Claimed by asphaltqueen. Thanks!
Pair Two:
Square pink hawaiian shell, clear and opaque swarovski crystals.  All sterling silver components.

Please see pic below for more NEW one point earrings....

Dangly Earrings.

Pair Two:  Flower mother of pearl charm with light blue dangly swarovski crystal on sterling hooks

Two Points:

NEW!! Earrings
Sorry for the crappy pic--the beads kept swingin' around and driving me nuts.
Pair Three: Round amazonite beads, sterling silver bead cap, smooth fresh water pearl and champagne swarovksi crystals.  Puurddy!  All sterling silver parts.
Claimed by purple one!  Thanks!
Pair Four:  Pearl danglies.  Blush pink freshwater pearls, irridescent swarvoski crystals, champagne czech firepolish beads, rose quartz, and teeny tiny fresh water pearls.
ONE POINT: Pair Five: Glossy aventurine beads, coil wrapped sterling silver bead caps, and mauve swarovski crystals.

Bunny Baby Hat:
Handknit with paton's classic merino wool and super soft wool/mohair blend for the pink.

Three Points:

NEW!!!:Baby Sockies
Handknit with soft superwash wool/nylon blend sock yarn, these are super cute baby socks, made exactly the same as adult socks, only miniaturized.  These nearly killed me.  The socks that never died.  I will *never* make another pair. Lol. Smiley

I stuffed them w/ a bag, but they look all misshappen w/o a lil footsie in them. Smiley  Knit to be snug around the ankle, and flare out for the pudgy baby leggies.

Claims from me:

legerdemain to phizzychick-strawberry baby hat (2)-send by May 14

I've had such a productive day! Grin

Grr. I've had such an *unproductive* day.  I've knit three freakin' slippers already and they're all botched attempts.  Makes me peeeevish!  Wink  I hate it when it doesn't just go miraculously well on the first try. lol.

On a happy note, nice new yarns everyone!!  Cheesy  And I really like the reincarnation of blueberry guts! Smiley

I'm thinkin' about knitting some socks or slippers or slipper socks. Smiley

Is anyone (w/ the exception of those with size 15us feet) interested?

Also, is anyone looking for knit baby stuff?  And if so, what sort?

Fav colours?

It's a freakin' slow day at work, so I'm surfing the net for patterns...
