41  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Ugly Betty on: February 03, 2007 02:17:54 PM

We've recently just got the first few episodes in the UK. All I can say is loving it!
Anyway I was just wondering if any of the more expert knitters had thought of knitting an Ugly Betty poncho as seen in the first episode?

I'm not competent enough  to try such a thing but I thought it was a great idea for a project... Grin

Well I now have warm ears!

I really hope the designer dosent mind but I tend to make things up rather than knit from patterns as Im not very good at following them.

So I used the idea and made up my own VERY simple pattern. I used a basic garter stitch for the first try and hurrah success!

It came in handy straight away as I was going out for a meal and its cold and foggy here in England.

It was so simple i made it while my other half was watching the football.

Thankyou again to the designer as it is a wonderfull idea . Grin

Im sorry if I seem dumb but Im new here....loving it by the way!  Smiley
Where can I find this pattern?
I have huge curly hair, so big infact that I cant get a hat to fit my head! I get really sore ears when out in bad weather so this would be perfect for me.

I feel sad about my crafting rather a lot. I have an illness that means I'm worried about contamination. So I have lots of things Ive made but don't do anything with them.
I'd love to give people what Ive made or even sell them.Whenever I show the things Ive made to people they really like them.(Which always
suprises me).
On a happier note I'm thrilled to have found this site....so many people with so many wonderfull ideas  Smiley
46  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Re: Fabric & Trimmings in Manchester on: February 02, 2007 09:45:31 AM

From what I remember it is a little hidden.I suppose with it not being in the main shopping area.

I used to work as a window dresser (prop maker ) and the jewellers I worked for had a shop in manchester so we were always on the look out for more places to get things from.

I love Paperchase...

Glad to be of help. Smiley
