22  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / the evil duck just wont teach me! GRRR on: May 12, 2007 02:15:25 PM
I have never ever used a pattern with any of the crochet that I have done. I have just winged it, and for the most part everything has been well received & I loved all of it.

fast forward 2-3 years & now I want to learn to read patterns, but I just am SO stupid I dont get it! If I understand one part I dont understand the other.

I have taught myself to do everything in crochet, so no going to the person that taught me......I am so upset with myself & my stupidity. I am sooooooooooooooooooo frustrated right now. I have so many things I want to make but I just cant make because 1. I cant figure it out on my own 2. I cant read any patterns to make the others.

I feel like Im stupid! I hate that.

How'd you learn to read patterns? I know it sounds strange that after these years Im stepping forward & admitting Ive made things hard on myself all this time by 'winging' everything instead of having patterns, but I want to fix the problem.......

grrrrrr Im so mad.

thanks for allowing me to vent.
23  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / help w/ my sewing machine Singer model 132 Q featherweight on: April 15, 2007 11:39:08 AM
I wasnt sure where to put this so I put it here, hope its okay

I have inherited a Singer model 132 Q featherweight from my Mother when she passed away in 2005. My problem is eventhough its a newer type machine (at least looks that way to my untrained eye)...I am having problems with my stitches, and cant figure out what could be wrong.

I have a stitches that look like a dot and a straight line. I dont know if its a needle problem (it came with no book) I dont know if its a tension problem (I dont know how to figure this out either)

24  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / wanting a ring for my hubby.....any ideas? on: April 13, 2007 05:11:16 PM
my hubby is into things like hard rock, and has many tats (just to give you an idea of his unusal tastes)

anyway, Id love to get him a wedding band, that he would actually wear. He use to love to wear a ring that had a skull design on it, but it broke in the back (no I dont mind him having something different as a wedding ring)

our 5th wedding anniversary is in July, and Id love to give it to him as a prezzie

any ideas?

if you make rings, let me know what you have Id love to see your ideas.

27  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / gRRRRR aggghhhhhh double crochet! on: March 09, 2007 03:00:38 PM
OMG! I have gone the way of the pickled fields........grrr. I messed up on this lap quilt I was 'attempting' to crochet!

OMG!!!!!!!!!! I am so mad! I thought that I was doing well, and then I notice that I had mistakenly slipped on my stitch & pulled the wrong one, and one whole side is messed up........I can not leave it like this!

so now Im trying to unravel it, not having much luck, so Im having to try & undo it a little at a time

I am sooooooooooooo angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

30  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / burning my knitting stuff tomorrow on: February 14, 2007 08:22:21 PM
I hate being so freaking stupid that I cant even get the cast on method right.........I never realized before that I could BE so stupid.......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.........

I think that if my mind doesnt change I will get up in the morning, and burn all of my knitting stuff I have.

I purchased a book, I have watched videos, and read online, and still it doesnt look right to me.

Maybe I am just one of those people who cant learn.

Theres no one around me that knit for me to ask to learn from them, and I hate to admit defeat.

a long hot bath and a bed is what I need, I just am about to give up!

thanks for letting me vent. If you smell something funny from Alabama way at about 6 am, then you know I have officially burned all knitting things here...........buhaa haa haa <---evil laugh.
