2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / DPN's Problem on: September 23, 2007 08:32:58 PM
Ok, I have a tiny problem... My bf bought me this huge lot of needles from ebay... so now i have 15 sets of straight, 15 of circular and 15 of double pointed needles... but the dpns are just pairs, not the whole set...
I'm dying to try to make a pair of Knitty's fetching, but I don't know what to do... Could I use another pair to complete the set and work with mmmm, size 6 & 7 needles all around... or would it ruin the whole thing???

4  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / ENE Weekend! on: June 23, 2007 09:39:41 PM
Hey guys, this is really a long shot, but I thought I should give it a try...
I'm the coordinator of the "Store" team at the next ENE weekend here in Honduras.
Ene is a catholic group for kids and we will have our annual Weekend in August 25th and 26th.  During that weekend the kids will be receiving several lectures about their relationships with their family, friends, and God.
My team is in charge of the things the kids would buy for their "Secret Angel" (thats the same as Secret Santa).  And this year, my team is quite small...Just two boys, the other coordinator and me.  So, I thought it would be quite cool to sell stuff made by craftsters...
We just need small things like bookmarks, small bracelets, stuffies, silly decorated pencils, stuff like that.  The prices we set for the things are pretty symbolic.  Ranging from 1 to ten lempiras (That would be from US$ 0.05 to 0.50). And the money is used for the group, not to benefit anyone else.
So, what Im asking you, are a few crafted things.  They would be quite small, so I dont think youd have to spend much in shipping ( I hope... Roll Eyes ) In reward, I cant offer much, though I could send you a Thank you card from my kids or kids on the other teams... (at my expense...) and pics from the weekend :p
Here are some pics from the last two weekends....

Thank you very much for reading this and please contact me if youd like to help Cheesy

P.S. The weekend is August 25th and 26th...
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cute hat (aka. Retro Cloche Stash Hat)... *With link to pattern used** on: June 13, 2007 07:51:41 PM
I've been wanting to make a hat for quite a while, but didn't find THE pattern...
You know, that pattern that really calls you and almost screams "MAKE ME!".
But I saw this one,
http://www.knitonthenet.com/issue1/patterns/clochestashhat/ and just loved it... and having an alarmingly growing stash I decided to finally give it a try...
It turned out extremely cute... had a bit of a problem cos I ran a bit out of yarn at the end... It called for 4 inches of St st in rounds at the end, but I did like 7 rows but I kinda had to unravel(like always) the last row, cos I didn't have enough yarn to bind off...
But judge for yourself... Cheesy

The pics are bad! The first one is barely decent... Tongue
Please comment! Feedback is always good!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Some stuff from my biz.... on: May 02, 2007 02:25:34 PM

This is a bit older...

This one is The Story of Jesus... (also Sterling silver, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals.
I'm gonna make some with "poem" for mother's day... but later... Tongue
I planned to post more pics... but they are gigantic... I'll fix them and post them later...
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help me decide what to do with some yarn! on: April 18, 2007 11:13:39 PM
Ok, I need help... Tongue
I need a small project that uses just one skein...
I have a skein of yarn that I love...and I'm looking for something pretty and light... Though everytime I see Clapotis, I imagine it in this yarn...
I can't tell you anything interesting about it...cos there's no website or anything...and it's in spanish...
It's Cisne's Motitas yarn.... weight 100g.... 97% acrylic 3% poliamida (?) 240 yards...
26 rows x 22 sts on a 10x10 inches swatch using needle us3 Tongue

Any advice will be thanked... Tongue I'm dying to do something pretty with it... anything light and pretty... I just have one skein, but could probably get more...
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Resizing Knitty's Vestee on: April 12, 2007 12:15:53 PM
I need some help... I found the Vestee on the newest Knitty and looks like the perfect present for my friend that will be giving birth to her first son at the end of the month...but the thing is that I want to make a smaller version of the Vestee...
but I dunno how...
I have some lovely baby blue yarn, and I'd be using US 6 needles...the gauge is 28 sts 32 sts...
Well, the thing is that i already started... Tongue I figure that since it seems to look smaller it would kinda work...but i dunno how long I have to make it... the pattern calls to knit in garter stitch for six inches... but I think that would be extremely big for a newborn...
