1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Pillowcase dress and top, Peasant dress and Capri's on: May 20, 2008 11:40:41 AM

I made these for my daughter's using instructions for parksbird patterns. These are my first pillowcase dresses.  I got the 2 pillowcases for .69 a piece and the white sheet I made the peasant dress is one I had - (it is under the yellow pillowcase dress). I did buy the denim fabric- it was 3.99 a yard on sale. but still a great deal and it only took 3/4 a yard.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Rah! Rah! Rah! Cheerleader costume on: November 01, 2007 09:47:49 AM
Here is the costume I made for my 8 yr old.  She wanted to be a cheerleader so I made it Halloween themed.  She loved it!

I used Simplicity 5485 to make it - man I hate putting in zippers and this had 2!  grrr

Anyway here is a shot of the outfit and a few action shots.

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / American Girl Molly and Hallie dress's on: August 19, 2007 06:22:11 PM
I made these clothes for my girls American Girls dolls - Molly historical doll and Hallie Hopscotch Hill doll.

Molly - Used Simplicity #4347 - the top and vest are a tad tight I will add 1/4-1/2 inch next time I use them.

Hallie - I used this great tutorial http://houseonhillroad.typepad.com/photos/sunny_day/index.html to do the shirring. I added a tiny tiny yoyo with a flower button to dress it up.

Thank you for looking
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Tank top and tierd skirt and matching doll outfit on: August 19, 2007 06:13:10 PM
It has been so long since I finished an outfit for any of my kiddos!  But today I finished this outfit for my 8 yr old. I had finished the shirt for her to wear on the 4th of July to match her Molly Doll's outfit  I had made. The skirt I finished today. I used simplicity pattern #4613 for the tank and the skirt I wish I had made the yoke on the skirt a bit shorter but she likes it.  The skirt has a built in knit short underneath. I also added one extra layer of ruffle (the blue pattern)
the doll's outfit is made from simplicity #4347

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / big boy jeans to little boy jeans on: January 24, 2007 01:51:57 PM
Love this forum- so cool to see all the spiffed up projects.  I wanted to share the jeans I made for my little boy out of the legs from some too small jeans from my big boy.

I basically cut the legs from a size 12 pair of jeans to the length of a fav pair of my younger boys pants (about a size 5/6) adding 2 inch for waist.  then I used the same pants to draw on the crotch seam on the the s legs. put the legs inside each other right sides facing and sewed the crotch seam. then just added a  elastic waist.  when I cut the legs off the original pair I kept the original bottom seams.  I also cut the pockets and some of the belt loops and the "Levi" tag from the original jeans and added them to the legs. My little guy loves them.
