11  Car Wreck Zombie in Halloween Costumes by darkdaughter on: October 22, 2007 10:38:01 AM
I was hoping that this might possibly look like a zombie who died in a car wreck before rising from the dead. I'm not sure if it says 'car wreck,' but it sure says 'gross.'

And the cheek:

With the boyfriend (he needed a little something on his forehead):

12  Some Special FX (Zombie-like) in Halloween Costumes by darkdaughter on: October 19, 2007 10:26:34 AM

Up close of gash on face:

(I wanted it to look like peeled away skin, kind of dry, though. Afterall, a zombie's heart doesn't pump)

And my hand:

I tried dusting it with translucent powder to get rid of that little bit of shine. Didn't work. I still like it, though.

So y'all know, there isn't a single drop of fake blood ... it's all 99 cent lipstick. I like how I can get lipstick chunky.

13  Re: The Art of Makeup in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by darkdaughter on: September 24, 2007 01:06:19 PM

That was for St. Patrick's Day. I had a camo headband, so wanted my make-up to match it.

Sorry it's such a big picture! The blue is NYX, and the yellow is Wild n' Crazy (even cheaper that Wet n' Wild!). The green is the two mixed.

The same makeup, different angle.

The pink is from a skull eyeshadow kit from Claire's. The blue is either from the same kit or NYX (they look almost exactly the same).

Lime green pencil from Hot Topic and yellow Wild n' Crazy shadow w/ a touch of blue NYX.

And finally, special effects make-up! I usually use an arsenal of red and purple and yellow lipsticks and eyeshadows, gelatin, red and purple food coloring, liquid latex, scarring liquid, and cotton balls.

(I have a different one, but it's being testy. I'll post it up another time.)

Sorry for so many large pictures ... I don't really have any smaller ones that show the detail.

14  Lately I've been ghetto-blastin' .... in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by darkdaughter on: September 08, 2007 01:43:24 PM
This shirt was sooo massive, a XXXL long sleeve, if I remember correctly. It was one of my first surgeries when I got my first machine.

15  Various Patterns in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by darkdaughter on: August 26, 2007 03:49:20 PM
I hadn't embroidered for a while, so to get back in the swing of things, I bought these patterns and just did a few on scraps of a man's dress shirt. These were done awhile ago. I think I'll make the dagger one into a pillow for a friend. I think it would look fabulous in with red ribbon and some faux leopard. I used silver thread on it and the heart has a double line outlining it.

My first real attempt at satin stitch since I was eight:

16  Freehand (new pics on pg5) in Needlework: Completed Projects by darkdaughter on: August 26, 2007 03:31:04 PM
I was inspired by a piece I saw on a livejournal community. The girl had done a freehand piece while on a road trip & I just thought it was gorgeous. I've never really done freehand before, so I decided to give it a try.

I've been working on it on and off for the past few months.

I took pictures at two different stages. I used some neon and metallic thread. There are also some beads that I threw in on the second stage.
Stage 1:

Stage 2:

Still not so sure what I'm going to do with it. I'm pretty sure that I'm not done with it. I've added more sine the last picture, but have sort of misplaced it for the moment.

17  Re: Show Off Your Hair! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by darkdaughter on: July 16, 2007 05:00:43 PM
Here are my various hair colors over the past two years. There are some missing, since I have HADD (Hair Attention Defecit Disorder) and sometimes redyed before anybody ever took a picture.

Just plain reddish.

Then I put in two blonde streaks (can ya see 'em?).

Then I goth a new job ... one that allowed me to dye my hair ANY color. So I went pink,

A little later, I added purple.

Then blonde. I was originally gonna dye over it, but it came out so even that I decided to keep it for a bit.

Then came a blue and pink streak.

Then more blue & pink!

Blonde again!

Then black underneath with two black streaks.

Now it is differend shades of lime green, blue, turquoise, and purple with the black underneath + two streaks. I'll post a pic when I have a good one.

Sorry about the tons of big pictures, it's just easier to see some of the colors when they're big.

18  My Most Recent Addiction: Necklaces! (img heavy) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by darkdaughter on: July 14, 2007 05:47:44 PM
I have a tendency to dive into new crafts quite often. Everytime I see or read about another technique or type of craft I'm at the craft store or online, searching for sales on the supplies.
Recently, I've really been into making jewelry. Here are some things I've made recently:

This was made from a guitar pick ... normal guitar pick necklaces seem so boring to me.

This one is another guitar pick necklace. It's holographic!

I'm thinking of shortening the chain, though. It might hang better that way.

I made the four charms (above) during last month's polyclay obsession. (Okay, so I'm still obsessed ... this one will probably stick forever.)

Yet another guitar pick necklace.

And another.
