1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: a sort of wallpapered shelf on: September 22, 2009 06:00:33 AM
thanks!  some dear friends are in the little circle of the exclamation point of the gossip poster, so it has sentimental value as well.

awesome!  thanks so much for posting yours.  i love the fabric you chose.
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / cushion cover from old t-shirt on: September 17, 2009 06:52:36 AM
i got this idea from chez larsson (http://chezlarsson.com/myblog/2009/06/from-tshirt-to-pillow-.html).  benita made a pillow for her son's room from an i <3 ny shirt that (i think) was too small.

i got this low t-shirt at a show approximately five years ago - and two kids ago.  i wasn't thin pre-kid, but like many of my old shirts, it's somehow way too short now.  i was hanging on to it for something (i think i was planning to remake it into a kid shirt?) but this idea is perfect for it.  no one will ever grow out of it again!

bonus: i got the pillow form (new in package) at the thrift store for 49 cents.
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / a sort of wallpapered shelf on: September 14, 2009 07:34:01 AM
i moved this bookshelf into my kids' new playroom to hold toys, and it looked really sad and blah.  i'm used to the back wall of the shelf being completely hidden by books, cds, records, etc and it's just that boring tan cardboard stuff . . . so i covered it in old rock posters and other personal memorabilia.  much more colorful!

i censored the 'f' word by covering it with a shelf.  my kids can't read yet, but it still felt wrong  Tongue

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Sunshine Bolero! (with link to pattern) on: August 31, 2009 01:52:06 PM
lovely!  that is really great.  i'm going to make this.  i haven't tried a lace pattern (mostly a very lazy knitter) but this is a good way to deep my toes in the water, and it's an inexpensive project since it doesn't use much yarn.

plus i just love that yours is all sunshiney and rainbowy.  what yarn did you use?
