1  M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E! in Halloween Costumes by MommyMac on: November 01, 2010 05:48:30 PM
I was hoping to actually NOT make Halloween costumes this year, because I knew I would be 38.5 weeks pregnant on Halloween. I looked EVERYWHERE to satisfy my 2 year old's request for a Mickey Mouse Costume. He wanted to be Mickey because he has a little stuffed Mickey that he LOVES and carries around all the time.
SOO not being able to find a costume to buy, voila... Mickey Mouse!

All hand made, even the ears which I made of stiff interfacing sewed to a beanie. Fleece slippers and shorts. The black is all jersey knit, made from a pajama pattern I already had.

I hope this goes here... it's paper and caligraphy.
It was made quickly and the kids were nagging while I was doing it so I might redo it eventually...

I just used my serger to trim down from the inside and make the bottom of the leg flare a bit... crappy pics, but I was taking them myself!
They're much cuter in person!

6  Gigantic Beach Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by MommyMac on: July 14, 2009 07:18:34 PM
I wanted a HUGE bag to take to the pool/beach. It's made from scratch, no pattern. I used home decor fabric from Joann's.

On the floor half full (enough towels for two kids and me, pluc bathing suits and toys and room to spare!)

8  Veggie Tales Cake in Dessert by MommyMac on: July 07, 2009 12:58:29 PM
Hope this is the right board for this!
I make this cake for my son's 3rd birthday. It is just a chocolate slab cake, with butter cream frosting. The yellow "tiles" (like the kitchen in the show) are fondant. The veggies (Bob Larry and Peas) are rice krispie treats covered in fondant. I was very happy with the result!
I used marshmallow fondant, I got the recipie from Allrecipies.com. It was pretty easy to make and work with.

10  Facial Tissue (Kleenex) Holder for my diaper bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by MommyMac on: December 05, 2008 11:59:06 AM
It is runny nose season so I whipped up one of these (ispired by one I saw on Craftster, but my own pattern). They are super simple top make and it keeps my tissue intact and clean!
