2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: An amazingly yellow dahlia for winter use on: July 26, 2010 09:34:47 AM
I'm also a purple kind of girl, but yellow and purple are complimentary, so if you can find the right shade of purple long-sleeved shirt to under, that would be a wonderfull winter outfit!

If you know a knitter or crocheter, they might be able to cut it into strips and knit you a washcloth, or bath mat....
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: which purple bear is better? on: April 14, 2010 10:52:57 AM
I like the faces of both, and I would want a set, but I think the body of the left one looks more like a seal.  So switch to gray yarn and you have a pattern for another animal!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Agh! Some first attempts at knitting on: April 13, 2010 09:37:57 AM
Knitting does take more time than crochet, but has a better drape and I think more textures to it.

I guess when you work on your knitting; you need to put on your patience hat!  Wink
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Jelly to my peanut butter on: March 22, 2010 08:45:39 PM
I recently started dating someone and our one month anniversary was Valentine's Day.  I didn't want to scare him off with something too sentimental, but he loved it.

It's my first embroidery project, but I used to cross stitch which helped a lot.  It's mostly straight stitch (?) and satin stitch on the eyes.  I transferred it one day and the next day did all the stitching, cut the mat and framed it.  The stitches aren't the evenest, but that's okay.

I also like the simplicity of it; it can always be displayed regardless of how their decor changes.
