41  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / a teeny tiny purse on: February 02, 2009 06:33:16 PM
So I'm not a big purse girl, typically I carry a little wallet I made ages ago and carry it 'boy style' (in my back pocket) My husband really likes to make fun of me for it because aside from being a wallet the only thing that makes it a girl wallet is the fact that a girl carries it.  The only issue with my wallet that *I* see is I can't carry my keys and phone in it.  So I decided to take the wallet to a different level by combining it with a purse.

I measured all my 'bits' that said purse needed to fit, and solved my issue with a small wristlet purse but in a messenger bag style.  Here are a few pics, thinking I need to make a bunch more in different colors It's small enough for me to carry without getting annoyed and still have everything I need with me 'with me'  It has one 'large' interior compartment, an two side pockets one covered by the flap and one on the back side for business cards (not really pictured here) and I should add that it's still small enough to fit in my back pocket where I prefer to carry it Smiley

Opinions & comments greatly appreciated Smiley
42  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ice Cream bubbles and love bugs on: January 28, 2009 12:55:27 PM
I love toying around with yarn and seeing what it'll become (yeah I couldn't resist the pun)

Here are what my most recent creations decided to become I'm quite tickled with them all but most of all love my little love bugs Smiley

43  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / mini stencil shirt party with 2 preteens on: January 25, 2009 03:42:13 PM
So my 12 year old daughter and her best friend were bored last night and wanted me to entertain them.  I keep a big box of t-shirts around and thought if it was up to me to entertain them it was going to be a crafty thing.    so here is part of the results of our mini freezer party stencil party.

I think in total between the 3 of us we did 9 different shirts last night, I'm very impressed with how well both of them handled their exacto knives, it's rather scary as a parent to hand two preteen girls full of attitude sharp objects, but they were very respectful and handled themselves like pros.

The knitta one is mine but I've been dying to make myself one for a while now.

Comments appreciated and will be passed on the the budding craftsters to be Smiley

44  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Fiber Friday 1-23-09 on: January 22, 2009 09:31:21 PM
It's been a while since I had any time to sit at my wheel and spin, and since it is technically Friday 'craftster time' I figure I'm ok to kick off the fiber friday for this week

only two spun yarns,  The first is from hand dyed mill ends entitled "I never promised you a rose garden" 128 yards 2 ply

And thinking ahead to valentines day, "I love your brains"  roughly 60 yards of thick and thin spun haven't set the twist and all kinked up from overspinning I love how it looks like a fibery brain Wink

lets see what you've got too!
45  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Crafts for men on: January 20, 2009 03:15:42 PM
I think a challenge for crafting for men would be awesome.  It can be hard to come up with ideas of things to do for the guys in our lives (I know anytime I have to make anything for a male I hit a metaphorical brick wall)   It'd be awesome to have a challenge that would encourage us all to try our hands at making something great for the guys and at the same time helping us all to inspire gifts for the men.
46  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / hello kitty applique blanket on: January 20, 2009 01:51:36 PM
I made this for a recent swap, and this is the only photo I got of it Tongue  It's an appliqued blanket with Hello Kitty's face on it, the face is about 10" wide.  Overall the blanket was big enough an adult could cuddle under it on the sofa.  It's fleece didn't do any fancy finishing on the edges because honestly I don't see why fleece would need it....

47  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / hello kitty amigurumi on: January 20, 2009 01:47:50 PM
I made this for a recent swap, my partner had a soft spot for hello kitty and while it's not my cuppa tea I had fun making her.  No pattern unfortunately I kinda just winged it while watching football one sunday afternoon with my husband, the head body and legs are all worked in one piece while the arms, ears nose and bow were added to the finished body.  Took about 6 hours total, it's a craptacular photo but I'm still proud of the little thing none the less Smiley

48  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / hello kitty candy jar on: January 20, 2009 01:44:31 PM
I made this for a recent swap, I'm not a big fan of hello kitty but my partner was and I did the best I could to make her some HK things she would love. The hello kitty face glows in the dark too

I'd also made her a light switch cover, but my lovely family misplaced it in the holiday scramble of straightening up for guests.  Hoping eventually it'll show back up so I can send it out.  I had to buy a HK coloring book to find images, and did my best to incorporate some of the other features from the page on the light cover as well.  Here's a rather bad 'on the plate' photo before it was baked but hey, it's the only photo I have lol

49  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / monster zombie and devil on: January 03, 2009 03:51:27 PM
The hubby just shook his head when he saw these, telling me that there is nothing holiday about what I've made.  ok so they weren't in the spirit of Christmas so much, but I like to experiment and see what comes to be Smiley and I wondered what kind of creatures I could make from balls

and the zombie ball, his intestines are stretchy and can be shoved back inside his body and pulled out for hours of grotesque fun Smiley

The little guy that started it all

and the devil had to see if I could add 'appendages'

Hope you enjoy Smiley
50  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / raiders applique zippered jacket on: January 03, 2009 03:36:30 PM
I did this for kishcrafts for christmas in part of operation 12 days of kishmas Smiley  Had to do something raiders because I know what a big raiders fan she is, and well I'm married to one so eventhough I am a bears fan I do enough raiders crafts for the hubby that it was ok lol

I think it looked better in person and well this is the best photo I got of it Smiley
