Ok, here are my blocks so far.  They need to have threads trimmed and be ironed... but you'll get the picture.

So The Trumpet of the Swan is one of my favorite books...my dad read it to me when I was little.  I wanted to get a tattoo of one of the illustrations from the book.  Do you think this is feasible?  I want it on my forearm.

15  Rainbow Quilt for my sister in Quilting: Completed Projects by kiden2 on: February 05, 2008 05:38:54 PM
So my sister Dana has been complaining for years about how I never made her a quilt.  So this Christmas, I decided to make her one.  She walked in my room once while I was working on it and I thought I was busted for sure.  But her only comment was, "Ah! You're making someone ELSE a quilt?!?!"  It's nothing too complicated, but I still like how it turned out.

The quilt

And my sister on the quilt... also a better picture of some of the fabrics.

16  it's OLD GREGG! Papa don't make me beg. in Needlework: Completed Projects by kiden2 on: February 05, 2008 05:26:47 PM
I made this for my sister, Matild.  She's a big fan of the Mighty Boosh, and Old Gregg in particular.  If you don't know Old Gregg, I suggest you look him up on YouTube... he's one scaly man-fish.

17  HISTORICAL FIGURE SWAP SPOILER! Little Frida! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by kiden2 on: September 28, 2007 09:20:54 AM
I made this for the historical figure swap.  My partner liked Frida Kahlo, so I decided to make her a "Little Frida"

Yes, I know she doesn't have a nose.  Everytime I put a nose on something, it looks funny.  So, I just decided to leave it out! Everything on Little Frida was hand sewn.  I made her body, clothes, and (most time-consuming) her hair.  The hair was plain black yarn, sewn straight into her head.  Then I braided it, and twisted the braids onto the top of her head.  I'll confess, I was sad to part with my little friend.  Oh well, I hope my swap partner likes her!

Whoo! I got my package today! The USPS is speedy.  doe_eyes, I love everything, thank you! Everyone should know, this was her first time making everything she did for me... and she did so well!

Now onto the goodies!

First, 6 pretty flower pens (note craftster in the background?)

Then, she made me an AWESOME letter writing holder.  It's like the rolls that people make for their knitting needles, but for writing stuff!

The inside has room for stationery, pens, and... AIRHEADS? I already tried the "New Wave" flavor.  Delicious! It tastes like pineapple.

And finally, some beautiful stationery! I can't pick which one I like the best. They're definitely my style- Cute, but not cutesy.

And some extra envelopes...

doe_eyes, I don't know how to thank you enough!  This was such a perfect first swap experience.

It's a little more boring now...

20  (img heavy) My flower quilt...900 pieces in Quilting: Completed Projects by kiden2 on: January 14, 2007 09:00:04 AM
I've finally decided to post a project on craftster. I made this quilt for my cousin for Christmas. She's an amazing photographer, so I decided to make a quilt based on one of her photos.

This is the original photo:

And here's the quilt:

It ended up being about 900 2x2in. pieces. I think I'm happy with it, I'd be interested in knowing what others thought.
