1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Little Bags on: August 19, 2013 09:59:44 PM
I finished my last sewing project for awhile.  Other things to do...we are moving in a month or two.
I made six small belt loop bags.  The top  two are for my grandson's to hold their cub scout knives, etc.  And the bottom four are diabetes pump bags for my grandson.  They all have belt loops on the back of them.  The embroidery was done on my embroidery machine.  They are lightly quilted.

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Black, White, & Red Horse lap quilt on: July 20, 2013 07:49:38 AM
Just finished this lap quilt.  This is one of those quilts that looks better than the photos...jmho.

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Irish Chain Lap Quilt on: July 20, 2013 07:44:19 AM
Finished this quilt earlier this year.  It is an Irish Chain lap quilt with fussy cut blocks featuring birds.

4  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / Couple more kitchen towels on: June 30, 2008 07:24:01 AM
I started out warping for a project to weave material for a couple bags.  Well, it didn't work out for that.  I realized that the material was way too thin.  But it was perfect for kitchen towels so here they are.  We live in a log cabin and they are really the right texture and color for our kitchen.  They are stiped, two shades of brown and some orange added randomly.

Here is a photo of my loom.  I warped it this weekend, trying for material for bags again.  It is warped in forest green 3/2 cotton and the weft is 5/8 inch cotton stripes in forest green and random bright stripes of yellow, orange, lime green, and red...so far.  Maybe will add some blue and other shades of solid color stipes.  I love how fast this is going.  Looks like it is the right weight for bags.

Here are three kitchen towels after washing and ready for use. The top one is shown on the reverse side.

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Colors - on a purse would you repeat the exact pattern on both sides on: February 06, 2007 06:42:53 AM
I am crocheting triangles to make a purse.  I am doing 13 for each side and looking at what I have done with five colors.  I am doing each side just sightly different....matching light and dark pattern, but varying the color combinations.  Each triangle is two colors.

Do you usually match sides or mismatch?   Just wondering...I am mismatching this time using my yarn stash of leftovers but have enough to match if I wanted to.
7  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Discussion and Questions / Warping Days Blues on: January 26, 2007 09:07:26 AM
Ok.  I admit that I am having one of those days...woke up with a terrific headache, dropping things, left the cupboard door open and hit my head on it, etc.  Just one of those days.....

But I have to get my table loom warped today.  Planned it all out.  Marked my reed of where the center is and where each end will be.  Then I proceed to warp just the reed (warping front to back)....hmmmm....don't seem to have enough ends cut, so I cut some more.  When done...realize opps, I am sleying two per dent and it should be....one, two, one, two, etc.  And now I have cut about 30 extra five and a half yard ends.  Just one of those days....

Taking out the extra and starting to move things over....please wish me luck....I have a feeling it is going to be a long and painful day!
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Mesh bag and a couple of pot holders on: January 24, 2007 10:37:17 AM
Finished this and thought I would share.  Just such an easy project.  I'm putting it away for a gift later this year.

9  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / Finished my first project - Scarf on: January 17, 2007 10:29:09 AM

I am so happy to have finished this.  It took about a week from start to finish and is my first finished project.  It does look just like the pattern was supposed to although I wasn't sure of anything....just jumped into it.  It did take me awhile to figure out what a draft was and then I had to add floating selvages to make the edges weave right.  I wove it on my four harness table loom.

Boy, nothing feels so good as finishing this and it actually looking right.  Hope y'all like it!
