I recieved this great knitted cuff from Knit_North yesterday. I have never worn a cuff before, but I can see why people love them no much.  It is a really pretty color, and fits perfect.  Thanks Knit_North.

Here is a picture of the three quilt blocks I recieved.  Sorry I am so late posting a picture.

The top left is from Kirbay831, and is really beautiful with lots of texture and came all the way from Austrailia!!!
The top right is from Kristin81 and these were the first quilt blocks she ever made!  Did she do a great job!
And the bottom is a fantastic applique block from charliebrown.

leeska, those cards are great.  I love pink and lime green too!  See my new sewing pouch!  I finally uploaded pictures of the great sewing pouch mish mish made me.

The little button says "Love me, don't eat me" since I am a vegetarian.

And here are the contents.

I absolutely love my new little sewing kit and have been carrying it around in my purse, I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, but I feel prepared!!!!  ha ha

Thank you mishmish, you did a great job sewing your first pouch!!!!

Ashestoashes sent me the best birthday package ever.  She made me an awesome mixed CD, which I am looking forward to listening too.  I have listened to the first few songs already and it is great.  She also made me some notecards with Jane Austen Quotes.  They are beauifully made.  And finally a tiny crab stuffie (for cancer) which is just about the cutiest thing I have ever seen!!!!!  She said the pattern was from a Japanese book, and it is adorable.  Here are some pictures, I tried to take a picture of the playlist, but it turned out blurry.

Thank you so much ashestoashes, this was the best birthday gift ever!!!!!

6  Re: Quilt Block of the Month Craftalong in Craftalongs by ctgirl on: July 10, 2006 09:10:20 PM

I have finally started to get caught up on this craftalong.  And again, once I have time for it, I rediscober my love of quilting (at least the piecing part of it.)  I am nearly finished with mata's star block, it ended up being about 12 inches, so I need to add a border.  I also finished the Wyoming Valley block.....this was honestly my least favorite block of them, but while I was looking through my fabric, I came across this FQ bundle I bought on clearance that seemed perfect for this block.  I am going to try to work on the birdhouses next, but I just don't seem to have the right fabric for it.

7  Re: DNA cable & lace tank shell (with pattern!) in Knitting: Completed Projects by ctgirl on: July 10, 2006 09:01:19 PM
Whew!  I finally finished this!  I feel like it took me forever, not that it was that much knitting, just I have had no time to work on it.  So this was knit (aside from about 1 hr at SnB) completely while commuting on the "el" to work.  I loved the pattern, squeakyweasels, great job in writing it up.  I knit it up using bamboo yarn, which is a first for me.  I LOVE the color and the drape, but the yarn is a little delicate, so I am afraid that I am 1 snag away from a unraveled sweater.......I couldn't get a good picture, in real lfe, you can see the DNA cable up the front.  While I was working on it I showed it to someone at work, and she looked at it a moment and said "Is that a double helix?"

8  Re: FOC swap 3 reveal!! in The Swap Gallery by ctgirl on: July 05, 2006 08:43:32 PM
I recieved my reveal package over the weekend and I love it.  I honestly think that I had the best FOC, everything she send me suited me perfectly.

The small package....

a couple "extras"

The large package.....

The suprise package.....

And the reveal.....

A lovely skein of yarn, a DP needle case which I have deperately wanted but haven't bother to make myself one (though it feels like I have made tons for other people.....)  I love that you used D-rings to close it.  It is a really nice touch.  Inside the needle case were some Brittany size 1 DP needles, stitch markers (which I am always losing) and a couple darning needles.  Thank you so much tristitia!!!!  I have loved everything that you have sent!

And my "its a small world" story about this swap.  I happened to recieve my first package at the same day my sister Rachel was visiting.  So I asked her if she had any idea where the return address was because it was a Chicago address.  It turns out my FOC was trying to be sneaky and send out packages using her work address and my sister used to work in the same office.  She was determined to find out who was sending the packages.  And I guess she went into work asking around leading to what tristitia called a "massive witch hunt."  Ha ha.  But now I think my sister no longer thinks I am a wierd for sending strangers packages in the mail.....

My Secret FOC must be clairvoiant because I got the perfect suprise package in the mail today.  I found out today about the insane amount of work that I have to finsih by July 24th.  And what do I get in the mail, but a package of lovely smelling soaps and bath soaks.  She also made me 3 very geometric knit wash cloths.  I can't wait to use these, the yarn is so soft!!!!

Here is how it came all boxed together.  The box smelled so great, I couldn't wiat to open it!

And here are the goodies inside.  On of the bath soaks says it helps "relax and motivate" and that is exactly what I am going to be needing......

Thank you!!!

I recieved the most adorable skirt from my secret FOC.  I love it and it fits perfectly!  You dis such a good job sewing this, the side seams match up so well, I am very impressed with your sewing skills.  I am just sad I have a stupid lab job so I need full leg coverings at work.  I am going to have to wait until the weekend to wear this lovely new skirt.

Thank you FOC!!!!!!!

Here it is from the front.

And here is the side, see how the seams line up perfectly!  I love the colors and the circles and everything about this skirt!!!!

And the mess in the background is my brother's room....I don't have a full length mirror.
