12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Robot Swap again? on: June 29, 2005 08:55:11 PM
I missed out on the first Robot swap, is anybody up for another one? The stuff from the first was SO cute!!
13  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Another Embellished Zipper Pouch Swap? on: June 25, 2005 09:58:30 PM
I was looking thru old threads, and saw this swap...
So easy and fun - make 3 zipper pouches, embellished with whatever means you choose, and mail to 3 different people - get 3 in return! Sounds pretty fun, would anyone be interested? I've only done 1 swap so if someone else wanted to organize I'd be happy with that - although I wouldn't be opposed to organizing it either,  - whatevs.
I've been dying to try out my Sublime Stitching kits and also some sequin stuff, this would be perfect for it!
Any interest out there?
14  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / 1.5 yards of Skateboard Print Flannel! What to do?! on: June 24, 2005 05:57:36 PM
Alright, I went to the Fabric Store yesterday and they had this amazing, cheesy skateboard print flannal there for a dollar a yard! My husband has been a skater for 19 years now so I bought it and I am going to make him something, but can't decide what! (And Gah - did I give away the fact that we're OLD by telling you how long he's skated? LOL!! Started early, we're still in the 30's...)
Anyway it's for a guy, and one who doesn't carry bags, so I am at a loss... anyone with any ideas? I thought about making him a nice pillowcase so he can take it when he and his buddies go to other cities to skate - but I'd have like a yard left after that... any thoughts?

15  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Quick Stencil Tip on: June 23, 2005 07:04:18 AM
I didn't see this mentioned anyplace, so I thought I'd add it...
A quick stencil idea I discovered last night - Avery Full-Sheet Labels! It's basically an 8.5" x 11" white sticker, that you can print onto from your computer. I wanted to make my daughter a Harry Potter stencil for the HBP release party my husband will be taking her to, and I found those in his desk drawer - I printed a pic, cut it out, stuck it to the shirt, and voila! It's reusable a few times, too, and you can get more detailed because the stencil is on a sticker and will adhere itself to the shirt so you won't seep under by accident...

16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Vegas/Casino night tote/diaper bag! :) on: June 17, 2005 02:25:13 PM
I just made this, I think it is so cute. I'm using it as a diaper bag, but it can be a tote as well. It's hard to tell from the pics, but the O-rings on the front hanging down have rhinestones all across them, they are sparkly Smiley ~ They came from a ribbon belt set from Kohl's, rhinestones and all ~When it is a diaper bag, those rings will clip to the twins' toys (they all have link-a-doos on them, their toys that is) and when it is a tote, they are purely decorative!

Just had to show someone, my husband is tired of me saying "Look what I made!!" LOL...

17  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / My New Badge a Minit BUTTON MAKER!! on: June 10, 2005 04:50:36 AM
Yayyyy!!!! I just got done ordering my new 1.25" button maker from Badge a Minit! I know it would have been way better if I could have gotten the table press kind, but oh well - hand-pressed buttons are better than no buttons, right?!?! Smiley I read on here someplace to get supplies from buybuttonsnow.com so I got their pin-back sets too.

Yipeeee now I can't wait to get started!!

18  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Some cute Applique'd Totes w/Pics!! (Img Heavy) on: June 07, 2005 07:58:05 PM
Alright now, I went on a crafting spree tonight! I found an old stash of tote bags that were give-aways from various places, like the kind you get free at the fair from the gas company? Anyway, I have been wanting a skull with needles instead of crossbones for a while now... hubby thinks knittin' is for grannies! So here's what I did... made 2 of those old totes + some checkerboard fabric into a new, rockin' tote bag for my current knitting project!!

(I didn't do the lining, really I just used the checkerboard as a backing - so 'scuse the raw edges...)

Then, I made this out of scrap fabric - it is a semi-Sublime Stitching technique, but the monkey is from one of my son's bibs, it is so cute! I love the tote, and it was my first bag that I put stuff on, all the other bags I have made have been 'plain', til now.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

19  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Need Ideas - 8 yr old's b-day party! on: May 07, 2005 07:55:32 PM
Hi all! ~I need some Help!~ Smiley
I need some ideas for my daughter's 8th birthday party - it will be a sleepover party and she is inviting 4 or 5 girls. I have a few ideas that I think are cute - a "Best Friends Party Mix" CD - I asked each girl to tell me her 2 fave songs, I'm making a CD for each of them with all the songs on it. They'll be able to decorate the CD case as one of our little crafts. The of course the picture frames they'll each take home, with a picture of the group in it. And gift bags, which will have their initials on them in glitter or something...  I bought beads and stretchy cord at Pat Catan's for super-cheap, so we can make bracelets or even just use the beads to decorate something. I'll list what I have on hand, and maybe that'll spark some ideas?

Fleece, many colors/patterns!
quilter's calicos
art supplies (markers, const. paper etc)
Tons of christmas lights

I kind of thought it would be cute as a party favor to make the girls a sleep mask out of the fleece, so I may do that.
I really want this party to be great for the girls, and even though I know they'll have a blast without tons of stuff to make, I want to have things for them to choose from - this is Liberty's first sleep-over party so she's SO excited! Smiley I'm thinking that if they do the karaoke/air guitar thing I'll get out the camera, videotape 'em and let them watch it in the morning - she's 8 so we have "concerts" on a regular basis around here ya know! Smiley

Thanks in advance!
