1  Raggedy Ann Skirt, YAY! in Halloween Costumes by _Steph_ on: September 08, 2007 12:11:16 PM
I made myself a Raggedy Ann costume for Halloween this year, and I need to find a top to go with it, since I have no shirt-sewing skillz... But I wanted to show off my crafty little RA skirt anyway, lol!
Here she is...

I made a wig too, I have to trim to so it's more Raggedy-ish.

But I need to find an easy-to-do top idea... thank goodness I have 2 months to go! Smiley

WOOWOO I am finally done! I have to do the fringe on one side and get the dog hair off, LOL, but I am done! I now have a pound-and-a-half, 8 -feet-long scarf WHEW! lol!! It might only be 7.5 feet, but it is HUGE nonetheless. Perfect for this September heat <laughs>

I am so glad to be finished, I am practically giddy!! Smiley

Day 7 of the scarf-along...
I have 9 repeats done! Well actually I am 8 rows away from having that 9th one done...

But still - woowoooo!! Smiley

Here is a dark, dark picture of it - you can't see the whole thing because I am such a skilled photographer... <laughs>

So I thought I would completely throw out the Ravenclaw notion of a scarf... until I realized that I should make a SS/COS scarf instead...

Smiley So I'm back in the game!

I am also starting a HP knitalong on my dorm floor... Hooray for finding more HP/Knitting fans (who are also education majors!)

Yay for making the scarf again, and yay for having a scarf posse at your dorm! Smiley That's awesome!

This is half-way thru day 6 of the scarf... and all I have left of "today's repeat" is 7 rows blue and the 3/5/3 for the trapped bar! This is such a nice scarf - SO soft and I know it will be so warm to wear - I may even do up a pair of fingerless gloves to match!

I got my package from The Meow Won't Purr today!! I haven't taken a picture yet - but I will this afternoon, I swear! I LOVE it all!!!!

ETA: Pictures!!!
Carmen learned how to make a hat just for me! She crocheted this hat, her first ever, (and I LOVE it!!) and also sent me this army man pin, which is So cute, and a pin with a ball of yarn on it, and some marble magnets, and a yummy grape eraser, which my daughter promptly stole, LOL.
Everything is so sweet, thank you so much Carmen! Smiley

Thank you!!

7  Re: Embellished Lined Zipper Pouch Pix! in The Swap Gallery by _Steph_ on: August 10, 2005 11:00:09 AM
First off I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated - I have heard from each and every one of you and you've all sent!! So we should have a flurry of picture activity the next week...

AND.... I was blown away by my pouch from boygirlparty - she made me a super-cool applique'd robot pouch, in navy blue, powder blue, and a flannel-grey colored back! It has a pretty brown-and-white retro looking lining - Susie your stuff is SO professional! She also sent me a packet of buttons with midwest-related phrases on them - my fave is "It's POP to me"...I also scanned her business card because it is just so pretty, and the notepaper she wrote my note on - I don't know how she parts with any of it, lol.
I had to use my crappy scanner because my digi has dead batteries - but I just couldn't wait to post the pics!

(((((Thank you)))) Susie! Smiley

'kay so here's the pics of the latest one... it is done in Red Baron and Orange You Glad, both by Lamb's Pride and in bulky.

<edit: i just realized that my kitchen is SO dark in this pic it looks like a black background... scary!>

the bag:

the lining:

it might be hard to tell from the pics, but i sewed a little ribbon trim around the lining and then added a snap before i sewed lining to bag - i think it came out cute! I also used plastic canvas to make an insert for the bottom - i didn't want it to lose it's shape when i put things in there. the canvas is wrapped in fabric & sewed, to keep it from fraying the yarn...
