61  Cherry blossom ipod sleeve in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by travelbug on: January 25, 2007 06:18:00 PM
I've seen some really cute things made out of felt here, so I thought I'd try my hand at making something out of it. I cut out the cherry blossom and then hand embroidered it onto the sleeve. The fun thing about sewing with felt is that it doesn't fray!

62  I heart fun fabric... in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by travelbug on: January 14, 2007 07:44:42 AM
Hey Guys!

I went fabric shopping with my Mom and Grandma yesterday and found some really fun fabric that I fell in love with Smiley

Here's the purse that I ended up making out of it:

This is a close-up of the fabric:

PS. Can someone please help me....is the background of the first picture dark (I want it to be bright white)? I have a feeling that the computer I'm posting on isn't reading colours correctly.

EDIT: Thanks guys....I thought the colours were off....I reposted the new pic, hopefully this is better.

63  Re: Three purses-1st post-lots of PICS! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by travelbug on: January 09, 2007 02:42:00 PM
Cheesy Thanks for all the nice comments! I didn't use a specific tutorial for the first purse, however I took elements from a couple of tutorials posted on craftster. There was one that showed how to make a lined pouch with zipper and I used that, in combination with a basic tote bag tutorial (and shortened the amount of fabric that I used).

I made the inside of the hobo bag fuchsia pink and there is a zip pocket (yeah craftster's tutorials!) inside.

Here is a pic:

Hi Guys!

This is my 1st post.I've been lurking for over a year now [this site kept me occupied for hours while I was sitting in my apt. in Japan not being able to understand tv or radio:) ]and now that I'm back at home and have access to a sewing machine again I've decided to try my hand at making some purses. Thanks to all of the people who put so much time and effort into making some great tutorials....I wouldn't have been able to figure out alot of this stuff without you!!

Here is a slim shoulder bag in a black and white flowered pattern:

A tote bag with an array of hexagons:

Finally, a hobo bag with cool black rings to attach the handles to the bag:

Let me know what you think Smiley
