1  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Pokemon angel need 1 on: March 03, 2009 01:23:24 PM
Hey everyone, I need a wonderful angel for my Pokemon Swap for nicolatte in Canada.

Let me know if you are interested and I can send you their questionnaire so you can get started. I will give 3 weeks for crafting and you will get angel/FOC credit where appropriate. BE SURE you can fulfill the swap requirements to the best of your ability BEFORE accepting to be an angel (Nico has now been flaked on twice so we don't want it to happen again).

Thanks so much in advance, ladies!

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cuddle Bean Love Bear! (Bad Bird) on: October 23, 2008 09:14:28 PM
I used the lovebear pattern from Andrea Zuill's blog to make a little Cuddle Bear stuffie. There are no actual beans present in the creative process of this little creature, he's just cute like a bean. A Cuddle Bean! He doesn't have a name yet, any suggestions?

And to show off his cuddle squish:

And how about my real life cuddle bean just for fun:
4  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Zipper Pouch Angel FOUND on: September 23, 2008 02:21:11 AM
Hey everyone, I need one fantastic angel for torrance in the Zipper Pouch Swap. Fortunately her partner didn't flake, but we had 2 packages go missing int he mail from Wales to Finland!

I don't have torrance's questionnaire handy but she lives in Finland and definitely deserves a great package for being so incredibly patient. please PM me if you'd like to volunteer. Here is a link to the original guidelines of the swap: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=242798.msg2679165#msg2679165

Now, the original requirements were to make and send one pouch, but torrance made 2 for her partner so I think it would be nice for her angel to either make her 2 also or make one and maybe fill it with some little goodies.

Thanks so much,

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Substitution for Lana Grossa New Cotton on: September 03, 2008 04:15:38 PM
Hey there knitters,

I am super excited about the new book Custom knits and am really wanting to knit the pattern 'pink' but I have run into a problem. I can't seem to find the yarn called for in the pattern (Lana Grossa New Cotton) for a decent price in my area and am having issues finding it online as well.

Ideally, if anyone has ideas about where to get it online that would be excellent. Or if someone has some in a stash somewhere not being used I would love to personal swap you for some (I need 6 balls). If you have some stashed I am hoping to find it in blue, but would be interested in all colors.

If not either of those solutions, does anyone have any substitution ideas? It's a 60% cotton/40% microfiber blend, 153yds to the ball and it's machine washable. Gauge = 18 sts and 28 rows to 4" on size 8 needles.  As many of those traits in one yarn would be fab but I could do without some if necessary.

Thanks so much for your help in advance,

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Jew 4 Life! on: July 06, 2008 12:35:32 PM
Hey there my crafty friends, here is the Jew Bag: The ultimate crafty Jewish lady's carry-all. I made this for my friend after going on a trip to the fabric store and finding this super awesome Happy Channukah fabric. At first it was just the white we found and I was going to make something smaller for her but then I went back and found the blue just enough for a tote! And the Jew Bag was born. I wanted to make it super over the top and just a *tad* tacky and my friend was all for it.

The front (I dunno if you can see it but the snap is centered in a little Star of David):

Close up of the front applique (the dot for the I is a little Star of David):

There are a couple more pics on Lilyvanilli's picture hosting seeing as she was kind enough to take pictures for me cause my camera is lame Cheesy (Thanks Lily!)

Please tell me what you think, this is by far one of my favorite projects I've made.
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Rainbow lunch bag for a four year old on: June 03, 2008 08:46:57 PM
I made this lunch bag for Atsuko's daughter in the OWS and thank goodness she loved it Cheesy It's got a layer of natural batting for insulation, closes with a strip of velcro and is made from 100% cotton for practical washing purposes.

When I was buying a couple of the fabrics for this project I was asked what I was making with such pretty fabrics and when I replied "A rainbow lunch bag for a four year old!" one of the owners of the store asked me if I was interested in teaching a class on lunch bags and would I bring a picture back of the finished project. Of course I would! How fun! Unfortunately the store filed for bankruptcy a few weeks later and I didn't get to host a class.. Oh well, at least they thought it was neat Smiley

Artfully posed in my hallway Tongue

The back:

The lining has awesome whales with sailor hats:

And for size reference, it has a hardcover copy of the Amber Spyglass (faaat book Tongue), notebook, camera, phone, ipod, etc.

Thanks for looking Smiley
10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Sneaky Cats Project Bag & Embroidery Designs on: June 01, 2008 08:23:20 PM
Hey there, Needlework Forum. I made this project for TheCraftyCat for the needlework swap a little while ago and I just wanted to share. It's got one short handle to serve as a closure when you draw the long handle through and the embroidery is appliqued onto the little bag. In case you can't read the flag, it says "we come in peace." (It's a pile of cats in the shape of a giant mouse trying to befriend a tiny mouse, for those of you picture impaired) ETA: I forgot to mention that I got the design for the bag from Deviant art and the sheets of embroidery patterns are my own design Smiley

And here are the patterns I drew out for the swap. I drew them in sharpie and then traced the back with my Sulky pen so she could just iron and go when she received them.

And just for fun/size reference, this is a pic of the "kit" I sent her to learn embroidery (she was a cross stitcher). The big hoop is 6" and all of these things fit easily inside the bag.

Thanks for looking, comments appreciated.
